Ответитьblack people biggest competitor
ОтветитьNow thats money 💰
ОтветитьDuring slavery in Antebellum USA, an average slave tended 10 acres of Land and was expected to pick 200 lbs of cotton per day. Removing seeds by hand took a day per lb of cotton. Later with invention of cotton gin they could process 50 lbs per day.
This machine can harvest 180,000 lbs of cotton per day . That replaces 900 people picking. Modern cotton gin for one days harvesting replaces 3,600 man days of cotton gin work.
Cotton price in 1835 USA was 0.16 per lb which in today's money is $34.47 lb.
Actual USA market price today is 0.81 per lb. That is 42 times cheaper than 1835. Fabric was not a cheap commodity historically. Average People didn't have closets full of clithing.
