I have always ❤’d Alicia Keys performances, and have many other videos (and song singles) she’s done over the years. BUT I’ve noticed that she NEVER sits at the piano 🎹 when she plays - whether it’s an upright OR (as in this video) the Yamaha grand. I realize that she’s known for a being a vocalist, but as a pianist myself for more than 1/2 century, it just strikes me as unusual. (Perhaps it’s bc what she plays isn’t technically very difficult?) This has nothing to do with the fact that I think she’s an amazingly talented woman, and has the right (as does every artist) to play and sing as she’s comfortable! Great video❗️👍

I noticed in the beginning that the piano portion VERY closely resembles the 1st movement of Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’. I admit I haven’t read anyone else’s comments, so perhaps it’s been mentioned before. (I’ve played this piece since I was about 11 years old and am now 67, but it’s still one of my all time favorite classical pieces!)
