Your comments about stealing as an artist remind me of Harold Bloom's anxiety of influence and map of misreading. At a high level he asserts that to become a strong poet the novice goes through a process of first repeating the words of a master in imitation, but eventually may become so accomplished that the former master now looks like an imitation of the former novice. And thanks for the branding advice! It's simple, and seems like it would work across disciplines.
