You know this bit is from the late 90s! They would NEVER be able to flip over one of those old-school console tanks from the 70s or 80s upside down that easily!

As a technician I fixed a tv once and then got a phone call 1 hour later from the customer complaining it was receiving Welsh tv programmes.. The writing on the screen was backwards because I'd inadvertently connected the line scan coils the wrong way round. It was a 5 minutes fix but boy did I feel stupid!! 🙂

In today’s upside down world, this TV is what we need!

If you look closely, you can see the colors on the CRT become distorted on the sides when they turn the set upside down.

I'm willing to bet there was nothing wrong with TV sets, and it was just the video sent to the TV was inverted. I would buy the TVs too for $65. In 2001, we still had many years left of analog. :)

All you have to do is flip your glasses up side down and you'll see it correctly.
My glasses fit well up side down and every once in a while I accidentally flip them putting them on and everything is on it's head.

I'm guessing all they really had to do is flip the tube inside the casing.

Back then a TV was made to last. Today, breaks so easily.
Back then 4 channel and you always found something to watch. Today hundreds of channels, but can't find nothing good to watch.

Can't you just take it home take off the back cover rotate the picture tube stick back on the back and you have a good and cheap tv

While in the Navy on Midway Island 1966-1968, I also had a part time job in the Navy Exchange (the local store) TV and radio repair shop. One fellow brought in a TV to be repaired and was extremely rude to us. We repaired the TV, but also swapped the left and right wires on the picture tubes yoke coil which reverses the picture right to left. There was only one TV station there and you watched whatever it had. It was about two weeks before the guy brought it back in. We were surprised it took that long. We played dumb and said we would look into it. Of course, we put it back to normal and didn't charge him for that.

It wasn't an easy task for me  to make a list of Top 31 Candid Camera Classic episodes that I loved.

I would have bought it. All you have to do to fix it is reverse the positions of two of the four yoke wires.

This is from 2001 and I can't believe how old fashioned things still were back then. Still selling those decorative wooden panel televisions at the time. I remember every t.v was huge and heavy. Back in the early 90's we bought a tv that looked just like that from a relative and the thing was so big my parents had to hire some guy with a van to transport it to our home. He charged like 200 dollars to deliver it. Today for 200 dollars you can get a light as a feather flat screen tv at Walmart. Things have changed.

Probably not too hard to open the cabinet and remount the innards right side up if desperate for the discount. Something similar happened to me at my job years ago. I was the only employee and at a counter. I leaned over the keyboard and oops hit the exact combination of shortcuts with my 'balcony' to flip the image on the computer. Fortunately clued in that I could do a quick Google search on the problem and found the right keys to press to get it back! So funny though. No way was I going to call our Tech Support guys for help and to explain how I had done that!!!!
