Addendum: It usually comes out a bit more foamy than in this video. My steam wand placement was not great, as I was recording and keeping track of cameras.
ОтветитьThanks! Like you, I used to make the "full" butter coffee recipe, blender and all. And yes, it did the trick with skipping breakfast and weight loss. But it was a pain. I'm going to give your 2.0 a try right now!
ОтветитьAny advice for people without espresso machines? I can make something close to espresso with my moka pot, but my blender is too big to use with such a small amount of coffee.
ОтветитьOMG - how have I not thought of steaming detergent soap to clean the pitcher. I often skip milk because I’m bad at cleaning the pitcher but don’t mind a second steam. Thx!
ОтветитьI've been keto for three and a half years and could never stomach the idea of bullet proof coffee the way I had always seen it done. This way is totally different and I will give it a go. I will start with much less butter and hopefully be able to stick with it and work my way up to the full amount. Thanks for this recipe.
ОтветитьHow about coconut oil if you're vegan?
ОтветитьBravo. I've drunk butter coffee off and on, since the fad started but I'm gona try your 2.0
ОтветитьWe actually did this at the cafe I used to work at, except that we didn't steam the coffee, we melted butter in some hot water, added cold water and steamed that and poured it over espresso. People liked it, I hated making it and it honestly just tastes bad. Butter coffee just tastes bad to me.
ОтветитьFasting works well. We even do a spoon of olive oil and coffee for breakfast
ОтветитьIt's kind of like an Aerocano with butter and MCT oil. I'll give it a shot!
ОтветитьI saw a chart this morning for Espresso drinks. One was and espresso shot but using clarified butter, but did not give a recipe.
ОтветитьThis is a great idea, will definitely try it! We've been making "bulletproof" coffee for years using an Aeropress and a stick blender, and recently changed from brewed coffee to espresso cut with a little water which is faster and tastes better, so this is a very clever and logical evolution. This would save the step of melting the butter in the microwave first, and using a stick blender in a small mug with hot liquid is not really the best thing to have to do first thing in the morning. 😀
ОтветитьIn Malaysia and Singapore, we have butter added to the local style 'kopi' also known as NanYang butter coffee.
ОтветитьVery funny timing .. today i go5 back on keto diet and tried speciality v60 with butter and it was delicious ... i loste 85 pounds before covid on keto 😅
Ответитьactually the real bulletproof coffee doesn't use butter. It uses MCT oil plus ghee.
ОтветитьAdding butter or coconut oil to your coffee will elevate your serum LDL-C / ApoB. This is an independent risk factor for atherosclerosis (heart disease).
Not only that, a recent Lancet paper points to elevated LDL-C as an alzheimers risk factor.
Additionally, fasting has shown no improvements at weight loss when controlling for calories. Though, if it enables behavioural changes to lose weight, then it’s still valid!
Olive oil is a much healthier form of fat (lower saturated) vs butter or coconut oil - have you tried that with the coffee for taste?
Also, Dave Asprey, the founder of Bullet Proof Coffee, is A-grade pseudoscience grifter
if you're doing this. do butter without mct at first. and add mct over time.
Mct is real rough if you aren't used to it.
Hey look, it's us! 🧈😍 Interesting vid - thanks for sharing!
Ответитьlove tis 2.0 🤎 actually seen it before in several cafes at 🇲🇾 n 🇸🇬 …. maybe bcos we have butter in our traditional kopi-o types coffee.
btw any suggestions? for those who dun own any espresso machine yet 😅
wtaf, I feel like I am taking crazy pills, how is butter different than adding cream!? this makes 0 sense! Just add cream!
ОтветитьYour content is intellegent and refreshing, keep it up!
ОтветитьI have been on a very low carb keto diet for 6,5 years now. (0 Grams of carbs a day as of today). And yes, I have been very sceptical of the bullet proof coffee. Now I am going to try this recipe. But I first need a steam wand. All I have for espresso is the Flair 58+ which does not steam very well lol!
ОтветитьDamn, I don't have an espresso machine. I guess I should have known, since you had an espresso machine next to you the whole time. Wondering how you'd make butter coffee without an espresso machine. Do you need a blender? [Edit: I just tried it with softened butter and a "Blender Bottle" (that you shake with a metal wire ball) and it worked pretty well, but I can't say it didn't make a greasy mess.]
ОтветитьI've given this a try using Aramse's SOFI 72 slow dripper with 50 grams out (and adding 50 grams of water later) instead espresso and it's really good too.
ОтветитьI use good olive oil + mct Instead of butter + mct. Tasting as great and keeps good ketone level.
ОтветитьI appreciate that you shared your stuff with the disclaimers, like, it's not medical, it's not really weight loss, it's just a drink you like and that helped you - but each person will be different, and you can just drink it because you like it. I will try it out!
ОтветитьI don’t have an espresso machine yet, but this looks awesome. I’ve been on keto for just about a year, and it revolutionized my health. I lost 40lbs, and now that I’m at my target weight, I drink bulletproof coffee every day, and I can also last till 3pm or so before having a meal. I just make my bulletproof coffee the quick and dirty way, just throw a thick slice of butter into my mug 😆
