2 of these mixes were priced at $75, that's crazy to me considering they buried the drums. I'm gonna be rich I guess, and start charging more XD

It’s between mix 5 and 2. 2 makes you float because the vocals are smoother and widened. 5 has more emotion to it though even through the vocals are upfront.

Wooow! This is so, so good video. So much I have learned from this. I have problem with putting my price in front of the others form my mixes all the time. I do consider myself a very good mixer and producer, but I guess the country that I am living in is not very humble to prices (I am from Serbia). So, listening to these mixes I definitely have confidence that I can compete with this, so thanks for opening my eyes with this issue!

PS. The order of your choices are mine too. I would consider mix 2 the best, then yours and then others.

mix 2 just had a great balance of the kick and vocals. i also really liked how nice the presence was on the ears. i think because of those few thing id choose mix 2.

I really love how you got the background guitars to sit just right without messing with any other elements in the song! Most listeners just hear vox bass and drums after all but I think your stereo field balance was fantastic!

Mixing wouldn’t be the first or main issue. I would focus on the performance first, especially the vocals. It just doesn’t seem highly inspired, short of real emotive expression. The backing music isn’t terrible but I would try to lose some of the predictability. As to the actual mix subtleties, number two is the strongest. I am curious about the compression choice for vocals.

Someone actually charged you money for Mix 5?? Sheesh.... anyway great work on your mix, hard to choose compared to Mix 2, I think that's a matter of taste as both are mixed very well

I like the much more intimate vocal sound of mix 3. That's why people don't hire me to do this kind of work.

This video proves why a Master meter with LUFs is the most important plugin as well. Use it on all individual tracks then master track. You will 9 out of 10 times have a very well balanced mix just from that alone as a great starting point

For me the order was: 2,4,3,1,5
Honestly could have got way more out of this mix then the ones you got over there.

2 was slightly better then yours in my opinion because of the clarity in the highs. Though i think your absolutely correct with combining 2 and 4 to get the best results.

Volume adjusted on my amp.....track 4 has by far the best dynamic range and natural sound. The others sounds more affected by "loudness war decease". Track no 2 comes in at number 2. Then number 3 and last number 1 which was dull in my opinion.

What are you talking about? Your mix is better than the other mixers. Sounds more natural, and better sound stage and loudness level are better. You threw your money away for nothing, and you are clearly influenced by the loudness mayhem, and compression exaggeration of music platforms.

Man I was thinking exactly what you said about yours next to mix 2. I think the drums and bass in yours hit better but the vocal in mix 2 shines much more. So somewhere in the middle would be the ideal.

I specifically came to the comments to see if anyone else thought mix 2 sounded better. I was not disappointed. Besides the punchy low end the dynamics sounded better overall to my ears.

Mix 2 for me. The drums had a more retro vibe which matched the feel of the song. In mix 4 the bass articulations were distracting from the song and vibe in some spots. And the more modern drum sound just didn’t work for the song overall for me.

Mix 2 is pretty much ready to go and yours is good too but would need a slightly mastering eq to get it a bit brighter

For me, it is yours, not in every aspect, but becuase it is more MUSICAL than the rest

I'd have to choose mix 2 over yours for this particular song - it matches the vibe of the song vs yours sounds great for a more modern-sounding song

Its hard to compare them with interruptions every 3 or 4 seconds or so

The low end is really good on the number 1 mix. Perfectly balanced imo
