Hi guys! I know it's been a while since my last upload but as you know, we have no internet while at sea so I could only upload when our ship is in port. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! LIKE and SUBSCRIBE!!!
ОтветитьIn my humble opinion, on any ship the ship's cook is just as important as the captain
Ответитьgo work down in the engine room if you think it's so tough --- pussy
ОтветитьHey Chief!! God bless!
ОтветитьTough job, huge respect. I know I could never do it.
ОтветитьYou can tell this man loves what he does!
ОтветитьGreat storytelling. His story is very inspiring ❤
ОтветитьWhat a great guy the chief cook is. Wonderful tales from Chief Mako and brings back so many memories when I sailed in the 60’s and 70’s and my fifty plus years working in the Maritime business. God bless all seafarers and their families.
ОтветитьThe Cook is the most important person on a ship , not the Captain , First mate , 2nd mate , chief Engineer , staff etc, work may be hard or tedious but with a good Cook you have a contented crew , bad food means a mutiny , people love their grub.
ОтветитьThe Chief cook is amazing! Good food for the crew means a hero !
ОтветитьHe needs to publish a cook book!!!
ОтветитьChef is a damn good man.
ОтветитьI'll cook a few nice meals for the crew.
ОтветитьHey Makoi, beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. Question... do you know any captains that would take us in on board with our vehicle to Europe from New York? We travel with a cause and mission and would love to document the first leg of our journey. Can you let me know please.
ОтветитьWhat was the fish dish he was making called? That looked good when he poured the sauce all over it.
ОтветитьSuch as wholesome gentlemen. We must protect him at all costs
ОтветитьAll of my life being a plumber the thing that got me through the day especially when I was in the Plumber's Union in Silicone Valley was thinking about what I was going to make for dinner that night. I used to love KGO talk show radio especially when they had a cooking show on in the afternoon. I would listen to them while working and it never sidetracked me from my work but made the day go by faster. Right on Saldi!!! I went to meet my now Filipina wife in the Phil's and it was the best thing that happened to me. I now have many Filipino friends here on the Big Island of Hawaii as they are very genuine and loving and caring people. Saldi keeps the moral of the ship in God Spirits!!!
ОтветитьGOOD FOOD is gold out at sea. All the times I've seen videos of submariners and aircraft carriers and cargo ships, I've always heard that food is the king of moral. It can make or break a crew. These cooks are wild at what they do. God bless the cooks.
Ответить25 years is nothing. I have been on ships since 1986 and still am.
ОтветитьI'm a cook on a ship. Love the job, always respect your cooks, they work hard.
ОтветитьStarted getting hungry watching him cook, thought that I'd like to work with him and learn. Part of me almost wanted to shed a tear at the end, for the time spent away from the people he loves.
ОтветитьI would absolutely love to do that.
ОтветитьHey chef.. is there a way I can communicate with you about being a ships cook.. looking at making a career change into this industry and wanting to cook.. do you have Instagram or anything ??
ОтветитьPig😱😲😧
ОтветитьI worked at sea for 6 months with a filipino crew and they were the nicest people I have ever met. I miss them all dearly. God bless.

ОтветитьMost beautiful you tube channel for seafarers ❤️❤️
ОтветитьHe seems to be very good! So important to have a good cook. Time would sure drag on if you had a bad one, eating the same old, bland, crappy stuff day after day. I love to cook, & I'm very very good at it - but I could not handle those long hours every day. That's a lot to ask of anyone.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this so well illustrated coming from the professionals who make good dining on ships possible
ОтветитьThat is the big problem Filipino crew members are more difficult to cope at
ОтветитьI've been to a cruise ship with 300+piniys crew
ОтветитьSo brother how much is the charge for per ton in bulk carrier and how much bulk carrier ship earn per year the company earning just curious to know
ОтветитьSalute manoy
ОтветитьI miss working onboard, after pandemic everything changes, after more than a decade working onboard Star cruises/ Genting cruise line ,we stop not because of retirement but the company bankrupt,,😢 yes it’s the bittersweet experience but I enjoyed it
ОтветитьThe tolerance level (you mentioning) is not related to personal level of tolerancy anymore, now is it about level of ACCEPTABILITY, living standards and costs etc. Where are the German, Swedish, Dutch cooks and e.g. European crew? Tell me. Reality is, that shipping turned to disasterous living and working conditions. Honestly, the Cookie in your movie does not looks happy and sorry to say I feel the fatigue in his words. What he is saying? "I've been locked onboard for 1.8k USD working 10-12h a day to pay the childrens a school. With contracts in approx. lenght 9 months." This is his level of ACCEPTABILITY, sourced from his childhood and living conditions at home. Mean the terrible conditions are still acceptable.
ОтветитьWe'll love to enjoy a meal in your ship with you Chief Makoi. God bless you.
ОтветитьGreat 👍 Being a veteran from the IAF, I seem to resonate with similar feelings. Thank you and God speed. !
ОтветитьI'm one of those who joined for one season and never went back, the captain was pissed and the cook a psychopath.
Oh land, blessed land.
How do you overcome sea sickness ? Do you ever suffer sea sickness ? Whats your most favorite port of call ?
Ответитьvery nice guy this cook!
ОтветитьThe chefff❤️❤️
ОтветитьMostly all seafarers has the same story of sacrificing there happiness, so that there loved ones can have a better life❤️
ОтветитьSome of best food I ever had was abord a container ship few yrs ago..
ОтветитьKeeping things Chef Shape on a Crews Ship .
ОтветитьSuch a heartwarming video. Patience is definitely rewarding and a healthy way to deal with any struggle in our lives. Thank you, chief!
ОтветитьHey, very nice video you got there!
What's the best food likes most by the crew?
Salute
ОтветитьA good man👍
ОтветитьGreat presentation. Comes across as professionally executed.
