You’ll go through 50% more files if you watch this idiot, don’t back stroke your file, one way only. As well for soft wood more angle helps, hardwood less angle than the line stamped, also after every 3 to 4 sharpening’s use a raker file and take them down 2 strokes at least, hate idiots posting stuff they know nothing about
Ответить👍🏻
Ответитьdo you want the chain that tight...youre a good teacher...
ОтветитьVery good advice. Thank you. Cutting a lot of trees around my place in France, I've been expecting too much of my saw. I certainly learnt a lot. Thanks again. John
ОтветитьDude, thank you. I've been watching so many videos where everyone jumps to the point with absolutely no explanation. I appreciate the clarity and guidance. I was gifted a sharpening kit for my saw, but it looks like I'll just be using one file from it lol Thanks again!
Ответитьeffective, concise, just enough instructions not to bore you. Thank you.
ОтветитьThat was a lot of great tips for this rookie! Thank you for explaining all that. Rick
ОтветитьThat would've been my chainsaw bar. I would've been the cheep skate. Lol.
ОтветитьPefect insructions!
ОтветитьExcellent video!..thanx so much!
Ответитьright, don't reinvent the wheel. It's about a 45 degree angle, follow the tooth angle like he says. But an electric sharpener is nice Dremel type. Not in woods. The manufacturer in days past gives you a sharpener with a handle, but they bust in half sometimes.. Any way. cool video!
ОтветитьThis is the best video on the subject I have seen. Thank you👍👋👌👌
ОтветитьBuddy, you made this video 2 yrs ago... You opened my eyes today... I do small engine repair, lawnmowers and sniwbkiwers... Now that I live in the south not so much snowblowers.. But I brought a stack of chainsaws people brought to me and when I told em I don't work on em, just said keep em.. 5 of them ended up running fine, the chains were spent... smells like money... New skill set, thanks
ОтветитьI'm a newbie about to sharpen my first chainsaw. Looked at some videos that left me trying to understand things. Then I found this video, just amazingly clear and well presented. So many points covered and although I have used my chainsaw many times I now actually understand how it works, and now how to sharpen the chain! Thanks to FarmCraft101!!
ОтветитьThis video saved my chains, my back, and my sanity. Thank you my dude!!!!!!!! <3
ОтветитьReal informative video! I’m a rookie and learned more about a chainsaw by watching this video than by trying to understand a store associate explain proper care when I purchased my Stihl. Thank you so much! Btw, I definitely subscribed.
ОтветитьThank you kind sir
ОтветитьGreat tutorial!
ОтветитьGreat video! Well explained and informative, thanks!
ОтветитьAwesome video!
ОтветитьGreat video...thanks!
ОтветитьThank you 🙂🙂🌵🌵
ОтветитьI have to sharpen my blade chain for work. Shouldn't be any issue because I passed the quiz.
ОтветитьGreat sharpening video I don't think I've ever seen it any better the only comment I have is you need to tighten your chain up a little bit. It should be a little tighter than normal. A tight chain keeps it from walking around side to side and when you're filing. You'll notice in some of the shots in your video how the chains will move around up-and-down inside the side. It just makes it easier to file a good edge.
ОтветитьThank you very much! That was an awesome video!!!!!
ОтветитьThanks for the great video.
ОтветитьI just accidently stumbled across this video. Been sharpening chainsaw chain for over 50 years. This is probably the only video that I have seen yet that cover majority of chisel chain. I would only advise owning a electric chain grinder if your using a chainsaw 8 hours a day everyday for your business. Gramps called them Rakers and he is always correct even after I got smacked by the 2x4!!!!.
ОтветитьGood good and gooder! Thanks.
ОтветитьI bought some files from ace hardware the specific size required they lasted one sharpening then you could see the file rough spots all worn flat, ruined my whole day after I hit dirt and couldnt resharpen, I figure the files I bought where just slightly harder than the chain itself so they could make money. I have some good files from my grandfather not for a chain saw but they are over 50 years old and still remove steel great.
Ответитьthird generation logger.. I'm 32. And I've cut for Robert's brothers logging all of my life. and some other's This is all I've ever done...on every fresh tank,
every tooth, "gets 3 swipes,
No more no less.. Chains aren't the same anymore...
If You catch my drift... not to discredit...anyone.. Just a statement I'm allowed to Make from experience...
As a DIY guy, I've been hand sharpening, but had no idea what I was doing until watching your video. Now I know why the chainsaws weren't cutting properly and can go fix it. I'm so glad I stumbled across this video randomly. The algorithm knows....
ОтветитьGreat video!! Thank You.
ОтветитьThanks for the tips
ОтветитьGreat video excellent camera shot of chain and filing method .
ОтветитьThanks. This has given me great tips to add to what i already do to sharpen my chain.
ОтветитьOut of the many chainsaw videos I have watched, this has been the most simple, informative and easy to watch. Really well explined and I enjoyed the quiz. My chainsaw dealer couldn't explain as well as you have. Thanks, Rob from Australia 🇦🇺
ОтветитьExcellent job! TY!
ОтветитьOMG! It took me nearly an hour to find a chainsaw video that explained how the chain cut and not just the anatomy of the chain. And he has up close clearly focused video! TWO THUMBS UP!
ОтветитьGold standard video
ОтветитьSo that’s how they shred cheese.
ОтветитьBest Explanation of what is needed for a chainsaw to cut properly I ever found
ОтветитьGreat info! I think I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.
ОтветитьHA! Learned more than I ever thought I needed to know!! THANK YOU!
ОтветитьI'm thinkin bout an hour or more in real time for me......time to new better chain. Perhaps mine just needs a rest and softer wood....
ОтветитьThanks, best i've seen.
ОтветитьI like to mark the chain with a sharpie. When i get back to the sharpie mark, i know I've done the whole chain and it's time to switch sides or be done.
Edit: i see you do the same thing.
Thanks from a beginner "Sharpening 101"!
ОтветитьGood video, but you didn't mention the importance of setting the tension before starting sharpening. Invariably the chain is slack when needing sharpening, it's difficult to work with a loose chain I find. Cheers
ОтветитьSuperb instruction and very informative. Easy to follow and comprehensive 😊
ОтветитьThanks for this. I didn't have a file, so used my Swiss army knifes file and its working. Its sharpening thanks.
