Who came to this video as a big fan of the Netflix series? 😄
Ответитьwithout "H"*
ОтветитьBamburg is whitout "H"

Again. Wokeness made it worse. I loved the books up until he lost interest in writing them and gave up four before the end. He did the same with the Copperhead series!
ОтветитьLove, love, love the show,, was really upset when its finished 😩😩😩
ОтветитьYet more evidence of the perfidy and treachery of the self-appointed "Kings of England"!
A Nation of barbaric marauders, driven by lust for Power and Gold, heedless of the lives of those who died in their service. T'was ever thus, right up to the Tory Power-grabbers of today, vile, venal villains who enrich themselves at the expense and misery of their victims!
I love real history, got into history back in high school when I learned about WWII, Roman's, Germanic Tribes. I love history. But sometimes, I love the fantasy side. I am not sure I wanna know the true history, this series was really well done and entertaining in my humble opinion. I would like to live out my days believing it to be an accurate (or close) portrayal. Sometimes knowing all the facts just ain't fun.
ОтветитьIt’s an okay series but wildly inaccurate in both costume and timeline. But it’s just a TV series and shouldn’t be used as historical fact
ОтветитьI absolutely loved The Last Kingdom. I read up about Alfred & Uhtred and saw the difference in the timeline and a question mark over Uhtred being real. I'm so glad you confirmed that he was and I can forgive the timeline.
They didn't kill Uhtred off in Seven Kings Must Die so I hope there will be at least one more series or film.
You can get married at the Castle...makes a special day ..more Special..
ОтветитьHow about the use of the title king for various early England rulers? The rulers of such big countries as Bavaria, Bohemia and Austria were officially dukes and the ruler of Bohemia became the king only after an award by The Holly Roman emperor, approved by he pope.
ОтветитьThe reason the books was written is because Bernard Cornwell is related to the Uhtred character
ОтветитьUhtred is a large heavily muscled man in the books. Why cast a small man in the role? The series left the books behind early on and I turned off.
ОтветитьI loved Uthred until the final movie since I'm Scottish, now I have Uthred to blame for 99% of Scotland's problems....ENGLAND hahaha!
ОтветитьEvery time I sail my little trimaran past the beach under the castle I dream of past times. It’s strange that I live near and yet on my dads side our Scandinavian forbears landed in Caithness in the eleven hundreds (I think) how they came south I don’t know but Caithness had forcible clearances brought about by the duke and Duchess of Sutherland who decided that sheep were more profitable than crofters. Such inhumane treatment worse I think than the so called pagan Norsemen.
ОтветитьOnly a matter of time before Black people claim this history as their own
ОтветитьPost Rome was the beginnings of the western European take over of the world as we know it today. The beginning of British kingdoms
ОтветитьLoved the show
ОтветитьIts based on series of novels hahaha while Vikings is loosely based on Viking sagas
ОтветитьThe really interesting period in Bamburgh's history is indeed the 6th century, when it was the Anglian foothold and bridgehead in this country.
ОтветитьMe too inwas the fan of nextflix uthred
ОтветитьThe show is good, especially the first 3 seasons. But the Saxon stories (the books it's based on) are better.
ОтветитьDestiny is everything!
ОтветитьI watched the series on Uhtred from Bernard Cornwell book's long before Netflix showed it. I've also read B C bookson series great reads.
ОтветитьWhy isn't this a whole 45 mins episode ?
ОтветитьWe stayed at Bamburgh last year for a week and had a view of the Castle, we had a wander inside and around the grounds, my only disappointment was there wasn't alot of History in there regarding the Viking era, one small room with artefacts was all there was, i thought there would of been a little more.
The grounds and surrounding Dunes are stunning and we were lucky to have a week full of great weather. After watching the Last Kingdom it was a great feeling to actually be there, looking up at this Stunning place. But if you go, make sure to visit the other Castles in the area and of course Lindisfarne.
This whole area married lived with and became a miss mass of Saxon and Norwegian vikings, also, the kingdom af Northumbria, has always been in local warfare, i.e., Border Reivers, Why do Newcastle UNITED WEAR black and white? Because the Vikings buried their dead in black and white shrouds! And the way they have played in the past, i thought they were dead! Now they look great! IF you look up reiver names, you will see ARMSTRONG the biggest clan, but loads of names you find familiar, Carlton, Percy, as in DUKE OF NORTHUMBERLAND, Hume. Robson. Milburn. And my own ancestry, Elliot, but loads of others.
ОтветитьI visited Bamburgh, it is magnificent. I walked on the beach and back up through the shrubby dunes. I also visited Holy Island, and from there you can just about see Bamburgh across the water.
You mentioned 1464, presumably when Warwick, "the Kingmaker" had been sent up north to deal with the Scots and Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI who was trying to regain his throne from Edward IV. The battle of Hexham happened that year as well.
I loved the series The Last Kingdom but haven't finished watching it all yet. Must do so.
I liked the Netflix series and the movie, but Uttered never aged. Between the 1st season and the movie he should've been like 80+ years old if one follows the storyline. Otherwise good show
ОтветитьI would love if you could do a documentary on the winter king it’s an awesome show
ОтветитьKnut killed uhtred bc he kept switching sides and he couldn't trust him
ОтветитьI'm a big fan of Uthred from Bernard Cornwell's books. Unfortunately, the adaptation as a series is terrible
ОтветитьUhtred is part of my family long ago, im dutch but my tree leads to uhtred prob fake unless those ancesestery tests are real
ОтветитьIm sorry, but Danelaw only went as north as the river Tyne, so why do you state it controlled Bamburgh??
ОтветитьLast Kingdom ❤
ОтветитьI live in south africa and viewed the Netflix series and wen I saw the real thing it was Amazing its come a long way from the wooden structure
ОтветитьDestiny Is All.
ОтветитьI'm not a fan of uhtred. He was an idiot. I would've declared myself king. He also had so many opportunities to assassinate kings
ОтветитьThat's all?
Ответить“I am Uhtred of Bebbanburg.”
Ответитьbring it on now days vikings .you are all wimped upted on crazy lefty s...t
ОтветитьJust finish watching the series I enjoy it❤️❤️❤️🙏
ОтветитьA lot of Bamburgh Castle isn't medieval, ( as in it's been lost) in the In the 17th century, financial difficulties led to the castle deteriorating, but it was restored by various owners during the 18th and 19th centuries. It was finally bought by the Victorian era industrialist William Armstrong, who completed its restoration. The castle still belongs to the Armstrong family and is open to the public.
ОтветитьThe last kingdom is god awful...
ОтветитьThe tv show was great, the movie not so much.
ОтветитьMy wife grandfather was killed in the area
Maybe you heard of him
Eric bloodaxe
This is my next vacation destination
ОтветитьNo one complaining about this series because at least the actors are white. I love the show but to see cry babies commenting on queen Charlotte
ОтветитьCame here as a fan of Cornwell’s tales
Ответитьi looked and he is a fictional character he never existed
Ответить
