I wondered what happened to this bunch and......Lo and Behold! a comment mentions songwriting at a McCartney level and another points out the excellent musicianship. They were at another level to most acts and I wonder why they seemed to be on the "Mums and Dads at the seaside " circuit rather than the colleges, festivals and unis. Maybe they just didn't want to traipse around the country in the back of a Transit van all the time. Proper talent.

It’s so much more than just nostalgia as songs then were so joyful and catchy. The intro alone is just so powerful with the double track guitar solo followed by the most beautiful chords. Fabulous memories. So sad to hear of the recent passing of Ian Bairnson, a much respected guitarist in the music business ❤

My mum would often knit jumpers for us as kids. I would have loved for her to knit me a Pilot jumper like Dave Paton is modelling. I think she would have done it if she could have found the pattern.

Ahh the 70's... I was going to live forever and keep my hair, well that's not going to happen but this was a great song, only recently read the lead guitarist has now passed away..RIP !

For some reason as a child I hated this song. I think it came on Radio 2 occasionally. But I could not stand it and ran upstairs. Eventually my mother learned what to do and turned over to Radio Four whenever it came on. I'm not sure what created this hatred, and the musicians seem perfectly inoffensive, but I do not like this song!

Travelling to my Auntie's house in Boorowa NSW when I was 9 our car got swept off the road into the river and all I was worried about was getting to watch Countdown. We got towed out by a truck driver that had to wade into the water with a winch and pull us out. We got there just in time to see this song was no.1
