Thanks for this video. I have a 99 GT that I am rebuilding. I think something is wrong with the fuel pump. When I turn the key on, I hear the fuel pump and the fuel pressure gauge shows 15 psi, but then immediately drops back to zero. When I crank it, the pressure build to 35-40 psi but as soon as I stop cranking it drops immediately to zero. Should the lines stay pressurized for a little while after the fuel pump builds pressure?

Are fuel pumps "universal" or is it specific for every vehicle?

I've done this three times, twice because I had to, and once at 250,000 miles as a preventative measure. Each time was NEVER easy as the rust ate up straps, pinholed the tank, and fuel lines. And I do not live in the "rust belt". Each time was a PITA as I bumped my head, cut my hands, or literally cut my butt on some unseen piece of glass. Never say something is "easy" when you have to work underneath a car or truck. Who is the fool that designed the fuel tank with the pump in it!

I’m about to check my fuel pump and fuel filter my car has been acting like it’s not getting power to drive and it stalls out on me on stops or even while I’m trying to drive it . Even when I’m accelerating it begins to hesitate .

You can just hook a scanner into your OBD port and get your feel pressure that way too.

That's not the only way to test it. If you'll pump may run, but it may not be putting out the volume, you need to do a volume test on it.

I think the fuel pump pressure didn't move, because you disconnected the cables from the fuel tank...😅

Chris I have a p0089 code on a 2009 Volkswagen CC and there are so many issues associated with that code. Could you give me any tips on what to do, I’m sort of sure it’s the fuel pump and I already replaced the pressure sensor and cleared the code which didn’t solve it
