Berserk 1997 Is Special

Note: I state that the 97 show is the only adaptation that Miura played a part in but in reality he also aided in the production of the 2016 anime with some storyboard work. Overlooked mistake on my end, apologies for that.

This is the show that got me into anime. I really wish we got more of this show.

I recently started the manga also ive seen berserk 1997 first the thing that wax made me sad and filled with emotion was the music.for real the tracks are so fucking good

I bought a vhs tape of this in 99 at a flea market for a dollar or two, when I was like ten. The dvds came out in like 2003-2005 and I did not get anymore of the story until the three movies came out. The new stuff was really nothing and so I waited until 2016. I have several editions of the series, collectables, games, to include the dreamcast one and yet I never wanted to read the manga. Tried it after the 2016 ended and little comic strips do not cut it. I think it sucks frankly, one picture with like two words versus a show is not comparable. Its my favorite ahow but only as a show. Maybe by the time im fifty the full adaption will have occured.

Nah i easily got over that part of the golden age arc. Only because i was reeling over a self deletion trauma i got from a different manga that i felt numb to everything else for a while

i do like berserk 1997, actually was just watching it again the other day. i think too much weight is put on the want/need for impressive animation/visuals in many modern anime/video games, and maybe part of the reason why the other adaptations fall flat in comparison.

on the bright side they can re-do the anime until it come out perfect

honestly the main reason 1997 is so good is the lack of crazy fans who hyper anazlye everything and review everything and post details into forumns constantly. It sounds crazy but I think hyper analyzation ruins stories.

for a small creator i would like to say you have very good quality vids, keep it up!

the music in that anime was 2nd to none after i watched the anime i wanted to read it and so i did...that was 20 years ago

I just finished watching this my first anime ever , I have no idea about the other newer versions of this anime and their timelines , are the others just re written versions of this or are they a continuation of what happens after this one ????

The OST makes the show even better

Taking puck out I think made the anime better tbh. When I watched it as a teenager for the first time it hit me much harder when the ceremony started. Nosferatu zodd was the only character that showed anything other than a normal human based medieval setting, so the ending hit way harder after episode after episode of character development.

I never cared about any other version besides the 1997 one.. reading berserk messes up with your mind somehow. The score by Susumu Hirasawa is god tier though.
