Musk is wrong. Everything is not going to go electric. Imagine trying to run large agricultural machinery on electricity. Or large excavators and plant machinery on electricity. Aircraft is a perfect example, for flights up to an hour carrying 20 passengers electricity is feasible for the flight but not feasible for a quick turnaround.
For large aircraft (long flights) electric is really not feasible because aircraft are designed to take off heavy, use fuel and land light. Electric powered aircraft would have to take off at their land weight. So something would have to be sacrificed somewhere!

The slingshot technology for getting into space has become impressive. Still when in space he is correct, compressed air or gas would be the only way and the astronauts need the air to breathe.

Try air/ wind , compress a lpt of air as the fuel,we have planty, as the rocket gets high altitude I'm sure air and the wind will have great mass to where it can push it out feather. Now when its coming down for landing I'm sure it can be slowed by Parachute if its connected to the ship where it won't Rip it apart onces its Deployed , if Safely Deployed and the ship starts to slow down, manual Navigation can be activated to control the landing ,if its build with the ship. Stupid question since I'm no scientist but after you get into space if you had a way to use an electric fan to blow into space tho there is no air why not try and produce force to send you forward wouldent that work the same way useing a propeller in watter or a fan boat atop of water to jet forward but in this case if they spin fast enuoh they should propell the ship or someone forward? you can use all the electric fans as long as you have power and no need for fuel in space then all you have is to figure out if it can move faster do we move forward faster and if it works how to do that on a grander scale to move bigger rockets and to move faster with stronger propulsion fans

Makes it so elon sounds very knowledgeable, but literally anyone who has taken even a slightest interest in rockets/aircraft will know that in vacuum, there is indeed no other way to propel yourself other than by yeeting the gas backwards. Thing is, rockets can go electric*, but they still need some noble gas. Look up ion engines. And the solution that wouldn't require anything other than electricity long-term is some f*cked up sort of space catapult that you would have to contantly nudge further into orbit by launching stuff from earth and doing all the acceleration in the atmosphere.

If a fusion reaction of hydrogen could be made into a propulsion system then we could. There is enough hydrogen in the vacuum of space to do this and travel indefinitly and perhaps even accelerate faster continually.

When fission is finally at a level where it can be applied readily, we must be creative. Fossil fuels are a finite commodity and will become so expensive as to be nearly impossible for the uses we once took for granted. Yes, electricity is the future no doubt.
