Willemstad Defoe is Willem Defoe- you know you’re gonna get something great… but with Pattinson in this movie, it’s like HOLY SHIT WHAT?? He’s fucking excellent in this movie.

This movie is a gem. Willem reminds me of my father in this movie.

Hello, thought I should mention, I have seen this movie three times now, I cannot understand the dialogue, the accents are way too thick. The last time it was with a friend, he could not understand it either, so it was not just me. 🙂

I always admired Willem’s acting, but this movie really put him on a whole another level of greatness! And Robert wasn’t bad either! Great film, haunting, insane, it’s really an experience!

In music, if a groove is working, you're playing 'in the pocket.' That feeling may be called something different on stage, but the congruence is there. It seems film is similar.

Just saw it. The b&w photography is like a character itself, as are the effective score and sound design. I was expecting it to be a bit strange, and indeed it is! In time I will revisit it.

I felt the movie like a battle of genius acting. It was impressive

Dafoe’s performance was incredible! I just watched the film, I loved his rant when Pattinson says he doesn’t like his cooking😂 incredible film!

Ok I don’t wanna hear any of this “it wasn’t his fault twilight was bad” one thing no it wasn’t and even if it was bad he was the one that made it good his acting was incredible and everything he’s been in he just makes it 1000 times better just by showing up

I haven’t seen it yet but my brother remade it as a joke and I think I get it and it’s so funny 😭 like what the heck is happening

amazing movie! clearly it is a dream as we see him naked at the end, indicating it is a dream of Prometheus

IDK what the on-set dynamic was but this cast was absolutely perfect.

One is already Batman. The other needs to be his Joker. They have great on screen chemistry.

William explaining his feelings and ideas on the piece is oddly lovely to me. It’s obvious he has a strong love for his work

In another universe, this would’ve been one of the greatest Batman/Joker duo’s in cinema history..

Hot take. Wake is Winslow.
After the painting accident, i think the real Winslow died. I mean, the day after Winslow didnt have a scratch on him. I think Wake left Winslow for dead (getting picked at by seagulls in the end) and created another Winslow in his mind. After the incident Winslow started drinking. He started to rebel more, ultimately became more like Wake every day. Maybe the murder of Winslows boss, inferred to the man Wake had killed and he could finally admit it to himself. You find Winslow sleeping in Wakes bunk. And ofcourse, Winslow starts calling himself Thomas. In the end, Winslow killing Wake, was just Wake killing the last bit of his sanity.

Just some food for thought.
