Dude I've had the same SIMS snowboard for like 16 years. I'm 32 now lol. Just got some new Flow bindings so my fatass can just slide into the back of them instead of sitting over my belly trying to buckle in. Looking at a new board this year

I'm trying to decide between an Arbor Westmark and Rome Party Mod. I know they are both park boards but which one has a better all over the mountain and resort ride?

I just got the 2016 solman villian snowboard. Best butter board ever and is extremely good at rails and jumps would not recommend for powder tho

Is there a type of board that is more optimized for speeding down hills? I'll primarily be with skier's and leaving me be the only boarder. Without being to mich of a carry bag, what board makes it the easiest to keep up with them speedy dual boarders? 😃

Great job explaining in a clear concise and intelligent way. Could use a little less music in the mix as it was a bit distracting at moments but awesome content.

As a lifelong skateboarder turned beginner snowboarder I had to pick up the Capita x Zero Scott Stevens Pro once I saw it. Its a twin tip freestyle jib board with a 5 flex. Should arrive in a few days and going to put it to the test in the next few weeks. Hoping it serves me well as I progress on the groomers and as I transition into the park.

I used to ride a Gnu Carbon Credit which is an all mountian freestyle board. I absolutely loved that board cause it could do litterally whatever I wanted it to do.

it was a symmetraical twin with fairly soft flex but not super flexy. pretty much in between a medium flex and a soft flex board and it was insanely good to learn on. that board took me from complete beginner to the black diamon jump line doing spins. and it took it no questions asked.

and the best part is that all Gnu boards are signed so you kinda know who built the board, it just so happened that I managed to run into the actual guy that made my snowboard when I traveled to Japan to snowboard. it is interesting how small the world actually is

Just got a bataleon surfer out here in Tahoe it’s soooo much fun and actually decently flexible. A blast in all the powder we’ve been getting but also fun to just go slay tree runs and groomers too

I got an all-mountain Palmer years and years ago. I have hit jumps, knuckles, big snow, very high speed (55mph+) mountain heli-riding and park boxes.

Now I’ll replace it when I blow an edge. It’s my old ally every time I drop in at high speed. Rocks, roots, ice, etc, I know how it will behave.

Love it.

Love it,

Hi. I'm deciding between Rome Artifact 22/23 Pro vs Rome Stale Mod 21/22, can you advise me which one to choose please? And I'm still basically a beginner. Which of these two would be a better choice, please? And I don't want to jump and do tricks either. I want a snowboard for normal riding. Can it also be done with the ROME brand? Or should I look for another brand and another type of snowboard?

Hello TJ, please help with my decision!
I live in Quebec City, Canada. Our mountains are not that high, and being on the west coast of Canada means sometimes we get a little icy conditions. but also huge amounts of snow.
I am an intermediate rider (8 yrs of experience), but by no means an expert or park rider.
I ride 99% of the time on groomed resort slopes / pistes.
I have never tried the Bataleon, and because I am looking to buy my very first good board, I was wondering if you could help me decide.
* I want to buy the Bataleon Thunderbolt (158cm), but I am not sure if that could be too stiff for me. Again, my main goal is to Go down the slopes of resort groomed pistes / slopes. I dont consider myself a fast rider but maybe because I never had a good board (I would see my friends and wife passing me every time). I measure 5'7, and weigh 172 lbs.

Q1: Do you think this could be a good board that I could buy and hold onto for the next 5-10 years?

Q2: Is the 3BT shape of Bataleon, something I should be concerned for stopping and control on groomed pistes (stiffness) and having edges enough for full stops?

Q3: Do you think is too much of a change if I am going from an old and used gifted board, classic camber, in size 152 cm to a new premium Thunderbolt 158 cm ???

Thank you very much for your advice.
Your videos are great, but I feel like you always focus on park and tricks.
It could be great to have a video or two for the more average casual snowboarder.

Javier. from Canada!

Hey TJ, any thoughts on getting a volume-shifted board as a beginner/intermediate (riding Austrian reds without too much trouble).
I'm thinking about getting a PartyWave+ because 1) it looks fun 2) It's way stiffer then rental boards, I'm really starting to dislike those floppy rentals. 3) I skate a really wide board too(9.1) and love the extra stability.

Maybe in the FUTURE do not put Xs as bullet points in the video...It almost looks like you are saying that X Rides comfortably switch....to some it might look like a red X saying does not ride comfortably switch. Just a friendly thought :) Great video though! I learned a lot from it!

im just gettting back into boarding after about 10 years, so im not sure what the quality brands are.

maybe i could get a lil guidance for a brand i should consider? Id consider myself a 50/50 between freestyling and cruising. Thank you!
