Mini jet is my favorite in kit form for assembly.

I believe the gyrocopter was made by Garry Elliott my step dad's Uncle I got a picture of it in his photo album looks identical and was in the same time frame.

This is a very cool video with amazing aircraft! That said, I hate the "whooshing" sounds (during transitions) and wish that they were absent, but I do appreciate the video. I don't mind the flatulent jokes, etc. (but do, the whooshing sounds).

The so-called Copterpack clip is one of the most BS pieces of propaganda to be put on the internet. The thing is using a power cable to supply it's electricity from a ground based source. The cable is edited out of the clip. Common sense would tell you that even with todays level of technology, you will need a substantially sized battery pack to give the required thrust to weight ratio, and that since the machine would have to lift it's own battery pack, this isn't the best application for electric flight. Yes, a battery powered version will no doubt be made to fly, and the control system is most likely brilliant, but don't expect any meaningful amount of flight duration.

There is no such thing as an electric engine, there are electric motors. An engine creates energy via combustion or a chemical reaction, on the other hand an electric motor can only create motion from energy which has already been created.

Paraglider is absolutely the smallest aircraft. I have a pack that includes the harness, parachute, paraglider, radio and nav gear and can hike up a mountain with it then fly all day. Case closed!!

Gyrocoptwrs is most dangerous thing to fly...has no glide like airplane

I thought the gyrocopter looked rather sturdy. A lot of them have been built, and a lot of people had flown them. If they broke in half the way you described, you'd think we would have heard about it.
