The description really says it all. The ephemeral, transient nature of life being shown here, I feel like there aren't very many bands (though there are some) that can really make this as appropriate and fitting as Queen. The heart and soul of the band dies of (what was then) terminal illness, and that's colored the band ever since, from the 1992 concert, to the '97 song No One But You, and now this. With the remaining members now growing old, to the point of reaching the natural lifespan, it comes for them as well, like it does with everyone. For Taylor to be, in some sense, surrounded by it for so long, and for him to now be facing it himself, this track really reaches its full power. From the patient tempo to the "sparse" lyrics (given the length of the track), as well as the natural scenery and the skull on the end of his cane? Umbrella? It really gives a contemplative mood, and helps one reflect on their own mortality. Just a great piece on all fronts, discussing artistically something that we all will face one day.

It's definitely a different side of Roger Taylor I've ever heard in music. I still see he holds one of his best friends Freddie Mercury close at heart and mind. The theater. I'm trying not to think of my Journey's end until I've finished what needs to be for my twin and me. A spiritual promise she asked of me and I agreed and it was mine all along and she knew it.
