Of course... The original will always be the ultimate classic, but I think both versions are very unique!!!

I thought I was going to disagree with Carrie being on here. Chloe Grace Moretz put in a great performance with that movie especially with how you see her go from being scared of her power to experiencing the ecstasy of the greatness of those powers. But I can understand the critique.

Yes, The Fog (2005 remake) is less scary than the original, but it is far more violent.

Watch Mojo has absolutely no idea what is considered a terrible horror remake with some of the movies that are on this list even as honorable mentions. The Friday the 13th 2009 they think is a terrible remake? WTF?!

The worst horror movie remake I ever saw was the remake of Child's Play. Chucky looked WEIRD in the remake!! Also, the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street wasn't good as well

I actually liked the Carrie and Friday the 13th Remake
I thought the Carrie remake was sadder and more fun to watch
And the Friday the 13th remake was more scarier
We don’t see Jason face which I thought was good cause I thought we saw it to much in the other movies, and the fact that he chases after you instead of stalk is terrifying especially how fast he is. And also, he seems like he knows what he’s doing in the wilderness, he’s on high alert when he hears a sound and even has traps set out or alarms
While I don’t like the Nightmare On Elm street Remake at all or the 2019 Chucky remake (which was not on this list)
Some on here don’t deserve to be in here cause some of these were actually pretty good

I thought new nightmare on elm street was good 🤷🏻‍♂️ Black Christmas was good too.

The fog is perfectly placed. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. I don't agree that one missed call should be on here though. It's not great or anything but, just a regular movie. And the backstory of what happened to start it wasn't even bad. While I do like Ringu and the original Japanese grudge, they aren't SO great that I'm holding these remakes to high standards. I was never scared watching any of them the way I figured I would be. Neither of those movies or the original one missed call from Japan have anything on the OG Texas Chainsaw massacre. Nightmares on nightmares with that one boy.

Friday the 13th remake was honestly better than the original, the new Jason moved faster and looked scarier not to mention the fact that the original didn't even have Jason Vorhees, The original firday on the other hand had a slow and boring pace and had a disappointing ending when it was revealed that the killer was the un-met mother of the un-met child

I really love Watch Mojo and have gotten many wonderful referrals. But this list just sucks. I LOVE some of these remakes, a number of them more than the originals. The remakes were just smoother, less "hacky" and corny, and so much more.

For instance, "The Amityville Horror." The remake is SO much better. The original is about as scare as my little dog, while the remake gave me nightmares. I'm old enough to have seen the original on the big screen and I remember all the people laughing in that one. Ryan Reynolds was fantastic as a man descending into madness, SO much better than James Brolin, and hella sexier too. I felt so bad for him as he fell into the spell of the curse. I disagree on "Carrie" as well. Chloë Grace Moretz came across so much more like a real high school girl and the whole movie was less cheesy. I was in high school when the original came out by the way. My only disappointment is that it was a remake of the movie instead of going back to the book. I also really liked the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and found Freddie far more believable and scary. I also think the new "The Omen" was every bit as usual, and I definitely liked the remake of "The Fog." And come on! While I didn't think a lot about the new version of "The Wicker Man," the original is soooo silly and nothing but an excuse to show lots of naked women. It wasn't authentic witchcraft at all. The acting in the original was absolutely terrible, a movie to make you laugh your buns off if you are in a depressed mood.

You all really disappointed me on this one. A lot. I think you just loved the originals and were against the remakes no matter what.

Nightmare on Elm Street is the worst to me they didn't even want to do makeup computer-animated his face sad idk how they got a budget for that

Carrie 2013 is not one of the worst horror movies ever made, give me a break!!! It happens to be one of my favorite movies and I think it tries to be its own movie instead of straight up copying its predecessor.
I thought it was a good movie and I like it a lot.

the halloween rob zombie remakes weren't that good in terms of plot and stuff imo, but it gave us the scariest Michael Myers.

I can only comment on the ones where I've seen both the original and the remake which is around 60 percent of the list but yeah the remakes sucked as do most remakes in all genres. Studios should consider re-releases instead, less money to make but far less expenditure too and legacies go untainted.
