I am sorry, but when you present the misconception, I just get really triggered how stupid they are😂

😱😱sir I subscribe to your ideas
I always like to study in way to understand something and compensate my misconceptions in it , rather blindly seeing it in a video
You are extremely true

I didn't know whether this video was right, but I constantly thinking about now: how many times I was just seeking for confirmation of my bias. It really scared me how many times I was autopiloting, waiting for the right information, ignoring those I don't like.

The problem in the given example is that they don't understand fundamental ideas, and don't understand that either.

I got no problem with Mr.Khan. He's a great man with great intentions. The problem is when I was in school teachers were too reliant on people that made videos like his. I found his forum of teaching to be absolute ruthless and unfair to the average student who cant stay focused long enough or get far enough into a video to only realize you would not be able to replicate what hes taught you in a classroom setting or in the prompts/homework made by the individual school one went to. (This was long before Covid and Zoom btw) From my older more youthful perspective he was terrible at retention and making learning fun, and thats the one gripe I've always had with Khan Academy.
Let me reemphasize though, that he's a great, genius man, that I would personally vote to be apart of the School Board of Education. I think over the last decade and a half he's learned a few new tricks and likely has better insight on the priorities of education than your average teacher or professor.

I think one thing Veritasium forgot to mention in these videos (as others have pointed out) is that Khan academy targets people who have to learn, not those just possibly interested in learning topics. The latter is exponentially harder, since someone won't go solve a practice problem unless they are truly committed to learning something for fun. So in order to help people understand better, Veritasium must do the entire process of confusion and then resolution on his own.

If it wasn’t for Khan Academy, I probably wouldn’t have graduated tbh. Now I’m about to head off to college for Computer Engineering & Computer Science with a minor in Math and Physics. I hope to get my Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering too! I have Ben Eater to thank for my passion for electronics! Lol

I find veritassium delivers concepts in an engaging way, but not always made to be understandable for a layperson. Overall, it's Khans videos that have helped me the most in furthering my abilities in science. Although veritassium has introduced a lot of philosophically interesting concepts, I'm always scratching my head at the end feeling like i didn't understand half of it
