I’ ve been taking collagen but mostly for my joints because I exercise and lift heavy weight a lot and I am a pole dancer at 69 yo. I have good skin, no joint pains, thick hair, and my nails and hair grow so fast

Ive used vital protien for years, been a monthly susbsriber, but Unfortunately, the quality of their products was degrading one package after the other. The taste was getting horrible, and i started to notice high lead in the containers. I had to cancel. Sad how some companies stop trying after getting rich and wealthy.

Impressively thorough, science-based, and balanced video! Thank you very much Dr. Karam for putting collagen supplements in context of an overall skincare regime. I like the idea that though any noted improvements due to collagen supplementation alone cannot be explained with the current scientific knowledge we have, there may be pathways we're not aware of that underlie said improvements and the benefits of supplementation/diet-based enrichment of collagen outweigh the costs.

I have grade 2 cartilage in my knee, on crutches for 6 months and almost couldn't walk anymore and not given any hope by doctors other than a life of daily Aleve.. I take collagen powder and Asu for the past 3 years. I have almost been cured and think I may be able to run a little bit soon, which doctors said I never would again. And it is all from supplements and collagen powder as I have no insurance for Pt or other procedures. My face and nails look good and I have waist length hair so, works for that too apparently

My sciatica is so painful. The pain runs down the side and front of my leg. It also wraps around to the growing (CROTCH) I am in constant pain. I'm drinking Kellyanns bone broth. I was finally starting to be able to walk a little bit better. (Less pain) Until my granddaughter jumped up and landed on my hip. Now I'm in tremendous pain again 😢 , but I'm still drinking the bone broth. Hopefully I'll get relief again soon. I AM a believer in bone broth because of how it made the pain go away before she landed on my hip. I do know it will take some time.

I went off the collagen powder band wagon a couple of months ago, but after this I think I’m back on, and enjoying a mug of it with some bouillon and herbs to kill the taste. Getting the glycine and proline is important to me, to keep my collagen levels high as I’m 63 and don’t want to fall apart. Yes, taking vitamin c.

Doc says he uses a cap for maintaining hair growth so I’m thinking he means a “red light cap”, in which case I will continue my at home red light panel as well.

Thank you for an amazing realistic discussion on this topic. 💙

I'm doing the lions diet, which is the strictest version of the keto carnivore diet. I'm getting my collagen through the most fattiest and tendinous cuts of beef. My favorites are ribeye, oxtail, brisket, and bone marrow broth. I also eliminated all foods which may possibly cause inflammation, namely plants, dairy, breads, and sugar. I've never felt and looked so healthy.

I started to use collagen supplement three months ago… pretty much the same diet as thru the whole year, just added also Spirulina and Ginkgo and I have to say it’s a first time in YEARS that my cellulite on my butt got better. On left side in the middle I literally had like a hole and it drove me crazy and now I start to see improvement, definitely at least 30% better. I cannot imagine what else it could be then collagen as I didn’t change anything else.

Dr. Kamir, I’ve been watching and taking your advises for a few weeks, and they are all great. But for this topic, I have to disagree with you. When I became 65, all the sudden I lost skin elasticity, nails became brittle and hair got thinner. With desperation, I started to take inexpensive collagen powder every morning and night (I use both Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides and Orgain Collagen Peptides). I also hit my face with my fingers every night. And to my pleasant surprise, within 6 months, my nail grow stronger, hair gets thicker and my skin restored elasticity. With Retinol from Bare Mineral, Vitamin C serum from Olay and hyaluronic acid from Roc, line are gone, cheeks are more lifted and people tells me that they believe I am in 30s. SO COLLAGEN SUPPLIMENTS WORKS LIKE A MIRACLE!!! I highly recommend everyone in my age to take it daily. BTW, my avatar is how I look now. 😉

Your explanation is very clear. No sugar coating. Simple, yet very informative. I've been taking collagen supplements for quite some time now and I can see and feel good results. However, there are dermatologists in our country who perceive otherwise, hence discouraging. After watching this video, my thoughts on collagen supplements became clearer.
Thanks for doing this video. More power to your channel!

I suffer from sever rheumatoid arthritis. All my joints were burning and swollen everyday. Walking stairs was getting very tough. Pain is exhausting and difficult to do simple daily chores. When I start taking marine collagen and pea protein mix (no fillers) every morning, all pains are gone the next day. Collagen supplement is costly, but absolutely worth it. Now I can work on rebuilding strengths.

I was brought up on healthy broths and natural healthy foods, my skin at sixty six is thick and pretty good and I look younger for my age but getting old eventually effects us all no matter what you have been consuming or rituals you are doing, as much as I want a face lift I am struggling to afford such so I am quite happy to accept the age process even though I feel thirty inside Giving the state of our food industries their objectives is focused on financial turnovers with no regards to global health, the tobacco and liquor industries are regulated yet the food industries seem to be getting away with murder considering the deaths associated with unhealthy food ingredients and consumption. The reality is that the fast pace of life has been shifted from the natural foods our parents and grandparents were brought up on and these forgotten ways of eating natural foods containing all the healthy ingredients is the cause today of so many illnesses, taking into account all the unhealthy processed foods and the generations to follow us then the future looks pretty much ugly if you pardon the pun.

I've taken hydrolysed marine collagen supplemented and had great results, when I noticed a fine line laughter line on one side of face it diminished after 3 weeks of collagen. other benefits long nails, always had thick hair so that stayed same. All this I only tried after age 40 couldn't face rest of life taking supplements form young age of 25 as marketed now, thats a lot of $$$ lifetime! Just good skincare and hydration i find is enough to keep skin looking healthy. Ageing is natural phenomena. Humans are not ageing faster than they did 20 years ago.. P.S can i ask if you have any filler added under your eyes? Ive never had dermal fillers only tried skin booster so thats why ask professionals what they've used themselves on their skin?'
