I don't pretend to understand anything about Crypto (Heck, I don't even understand the IRL stock market!) ... or want anything to do with it for that matter ... but I recently noticed something. There's this ad for a mobile solitaire-type game that supposedly pays you (real money) for playing ... when I saw that, HUGE red flags went up ... Like ... how can that POSSIBLY be anything other than a scam? Not quite the same thing as this, but it seems similar.

A fantastic example of a pump and dump scheme. By the way, just in case anyone isn’t up with the NFT and crypto lingo, FUD is Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. If you say it’s a Ponzi scheme or pump and dump scheme, you’re a victim of FUD. If you say the project is clearly going to underdeliver, you’re FUDing. If you point out that spending £1000’s on shit looking images is a bad investment then I’m sorry but you’re clearly a hating troll who just wants to stop me from going to the Moon. FUD is essentially the web3 equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and “LA LA LAing.”

Uhh... you kinda crippled all of your credibility because you literally just ran a pump and dump scam.

I feel like this type of Games could work, they just need to make a Free to Play version that will allow get the Currency by playing constantly (like most F2P mostly Mobile F2P) so that you don't leave, allowing people to get into the game easily and keep high player numbers, also of course make the game fun so that people don't leave the F2P will at some point get enough money to start investing in the game, some could even put some money if the see it worth it and they'll do their best to keep playing and earning so that they can still earning (like a Battle Pass) and just like China with outside Investors limit the amount of money that people could Take out per day or more realistically per week to avoid whales getting out and destroying the economy...

I know I'm giving ideas to this shitty NFT games but like m8 if you're going to do this shit, at least do it right

Ответить
Comfy Cherry
Comfy Cherry - 02.03.2023 08:05

play to earn is always a scam since more money needs to go in than come out so most people will not be making any kind of profit, and gameplay in these "games" is generally near non existent, add in crypto/nft where most of them are rug pull/pump and dump which just makes this a terrible idea to invest (if they plan to scam) or create (if you really did want to make something legit)

It probably would have had a playerbase, people forget shit like entropia universe exists, ugly and generic as shit, boring and theres no actual story or game to experience because mining and shooting uses up the real money currency, the only way to make money for free is sitting around for months sucking sweat off monsters to sell to other players, that's the entire game yet people still play it

The developers literally, repeatedly, in those comments made it 100% clear that it is a Ponzi Scheme. Usually, Crypto projects at least try to hide this fact, but this team seems to be so,,,, hmmm,,, let's say, uneducated, that they truly do not understand what a Ponzi scheme is.
This would all be funny if it wasn't because this is every single P2E crypto game out there and no one seems to understand it and it has cost people hundreds of millions of $ and just keeps going. So sad

the description of the game sounds fun, until you realize people have to constantly spend REAL money to play it... like for real some of my favourite games are the ones that are business simulators where you set up a company, work with investments and contracts, and have to take risks in order to make a profit. But those are GAMES, and in my case they're ALWAYS games that only require one up front purchase to play. Pay once, play for as long as you like. I'm sure people who were fans of those Football management games back before they became riddled with microtransactions will agree with me.
