RTX 4060 vs 3060 - 25 Games at 1440p & 1080p!

I just pulled the trigger on a new Legion LOQ after your glowing review, now I find i should have stuck with my old 3060 Legion 5....ughhhh

Thanks for considering DLSS+FG in your graphs. For me, FG is an awesome feature that alone justifies going for the 40 series instead of 30 series GPUs

Picked up a 4060 laptop recently for $999. So only $10.49 cost per frame at 1080p!

The 4060 is just marginally better. Fortunately due to personal circumstances I can get it a a little over $500 brand new so to me it's worth it. If had a 3060 I wouldn't upgrade though.

who the fack games with laptops??? Yet I dont give a shit about frame rates ! I care about Video Quality and detail! NVIDIA fixt the 4060 only because every idiot cries for FRAME RATES!

I'm interested in buying a 4060 laptop only cause of higher power efficiency, more future proof thanks to better dlss support, better performance at lower Watt to help me increase the laptop durability and decrease bill costs (in Italy electricity is VERY expensive) and because in the meantime from early 2022 to late 2023 all laptops upgraded to ddr5 ram and more efficient CPUs which is important, for me.
The decrease in hardware capability is still a scam, I believe that if 4050 had 8gb of vram NO ONE would buy the 4060 laptop.
And since in a Desktop I can decide all my components and have better cooling + upgradeability, all my reasons in favor of a 4060 are dead and I see absolutely ZERO reasons to buy ANY of the 4000 nvidia series for desktop, just wait for the 5000/6000, or Intel Arc to finally catch up, or for the 8000amd series... and keep with a 3000nvidia in the meantime.

Only problem with 3060 is VRAM. In 2-3 years you're going to be forced in low-medium textures ☠️ at least the 4060 has 8Gb (which is not enough, but still more) so you will not be limited as soon as if you had a 3060

Meh. I'm going with the 3060 laptop because the displays on the laptop themselves are 1080p anyways and you are savings hundreads of dollars by giving up 5 frames and FG which aren't such a big deal realy 😄. 1080p looks awesome anyways and its enough for me.

Wow this is great considering the price increases too! For the same price I got my l5p w/ 5800h and 3060 I could get a legion or tuf laptop with a 4060 and a ryzen 5 or i5 cpu! incredible! For real now, two years have gone by since I bought my laptop and you're telling me performance has barely gone up? Not that I wanted to upgrade to a newer laptop, new desktop? Yeah maybe in the next few years.

So the 4060 is available at $299 usd while performing only a bit better than the 3060, but is also more efficient and has access to dlss 3 frame generation? Maybe if I were privileged enough to have the kind of money to afford top end hardware I could wrap my mind around complaining about this. But I'm not well off, at all, and what the 4060 offers is extremely compelling to me.

Prior to the release of RTX4060 laptops, it seems not worth to buy, but now i see the MSI CYBORG 15 RTX4060 laptop with i5-12450h is cheaper than my lenovo legion 5 RTX3060, i5-11450h. But price is the same if there's no discount 😅 So kinda worth to buy RTX4060 now since the processor will be newer too
