Limited edition is a marketing ploy for the most part. What I don't like is if it is called LE then you see similar colors in regular collection.

#1& #2 - I was griping about these to hubs tonight. Companies need to take Mac as an example. The LE'd themselves right into the slow lane. And with a release just about every week, they burned people out. Tarte is heading there if they don't pull back a little. and #3 - like wth, right?? and #4 - sick of warm shadow palettes Why does every palette have to be half orange-brown?

You are so so right about the plethora of warm neutral eyeshadow palettes. I feel like crying when a company actually does come out with a cool neutral palette, unfortunately the few that are available are often subpar.

PREACH about the sales associates. Around here, for the most part, they all do a good job on their makeup, but there is one girl who is GORGEOUS - probably the prettiest one in the store, maybe even the mall... and I just want to hold her down and blend her contour. She's the sweetest too =( I want to tell her every time but, like you, I don't know her and I think it's the look she's going for because it's been well over a year of it. It just kills me because you can tell she's very naturally pretty and doesn't need even half of what she puts on. TBH the store director should tell them if it doesn't look good, it's representing the store. I'm all for over the top, but it has to look right.

I completely agree about improved foundation ranges, I hope that it also translates to better ranges for things like powders, concealers, bronzers, etc! We've been asking for it, there's the market for it but since no one actually catered to it of course brands didn't see the "benefit".

Totally agree with what you said about the limited edition items, it irks be beyond belief sometimes!

Wouldn't it be great if there was like this rule.... Each makeup manufacturer or each Makeup Company was only allowed to release say 5 eye shadow palettes a year. They're not allowed to saturate the market or release some sub-par stuff every month. If every company was allowed to release 5 eyeshadow palettes a year, then we would know they're really putting out the best that they have. Because they need to get the sales up as much as possible for those 5 pallets. So we'd know that they're really really putting their effort into making those pallets great. I don't know just a thought.

I think people need to chill on the nose highlight.... no one needs to be rudolf.

Hi Courtney, I'm with you on a lot of those. I just cringe when I see those harsh contours lol.

The best thing we can do as consumers is to stop buying - indiscriminately. If we do that, fiercely, the beauty industry will have to pay attention because we will have hit them where it hurts, at the bottom line. Be demanding, do research, never buy something just because a beauty guru buys it unless you are their biological twin, ask questions, write letters/texts/emails, etc of complaint, return products instead of filling drawers with junk, recycle unused products, be honest in your reviews, just say no. Everyone has been asking why the prices at the drugstore are getting more and more outrageous. It's a demand issue - the more crap we keep buying, the more the industry raises the prices because they are convinced we are too stupid to demand better products and they are going to keep raising prices, making more money, until we push back. Push back. Let 2018 be the year we say enough is enough. Let it be the year we demand more of the industry, beauty gurus and ourselves.

I will NEVER forgive myself for not buying the KVD Mi Vida Loca Remix palette! That palette was AMAZING! Why did it have to be limited edition?! Why are only the boring ass neutral palettes permanent?! Uuuugh! I loved this video & completely agree with you!

I agree with all of your points. I've been noticing a slight increase in cool toned eyeshadows coming out. I hope it's not just because it's winter in the northern hemisphere & summer's gonna bring back the warm neutrals again. The overly highlighted nose-tip drives me crazy, especially when it's on a long thin nise as it just distorts the proportions & isn't flattering. Nothing wrong with long thin noses, they are a very refined feature but somehow that heavily highlighted tip makes it look so very unnaturally pointy!

I'm not a fan of extreme contouring. When I walk into a make-up store I see many of the sellers where heavy, thick strips. It looks like dirt on someones's face! I think they want to show off the make-up they are selling or showing people how there make-up works or something like that, but it has a more negative effect on me. Because I dont want to have make up advise form someone who cant even do their own make-up right. Sounds negative, but it really shows a negative sign to costumers. Especially in my country. Women here aren't fan of heavy contouring. Many women don't even wear it! Contouring make-up that is sold it often light.

Overdrawn lips. Connecting the cupid's bow into a straight line. Heavy, obvious false eyelashes. Inner corner highlights. And yes, white shiny spots everywhere. In most cases, highlighter looks like shine, which looks like oil. It isn't pretty. Those are the trends I would like to see retired at the end of 2017.

I understand the marketing and sales logic behind LE items, but I think we consumers are growing tired and annoyed. Honestly, the constant LE edition barrage from many popular brands is actually having the opposite effect on me: I am not excited, nor do I feel an urgent need to buy the product ASAP. The glamour has worn off since I know another palette or lipstick will replace the current one.

It was hard to focus on what you were saying because I was distracted by your black poodle killing that toy. But yes, more cool-toned palettes, please. And would it kill drug store brands to come up with a transparent color matching card they could hang next to each of their foundation shades? Hold it up to your cheek and see that yes, this shade is the better choice? I'm sick of buying foundation that is too light or too dark.

Totally agree with everything you said, especially for the limited edition products. Also there are brands that are coming out with new releases like every single month, I don't think it gives people the chance to actually try it & test them out. There are people who like to play with makeup, hoard makeup, others like to review them, i get it, i'm a sucker for pretty packaging and lively colors too, but because there is soo many products coming out we are left with tons of new makeup behind, and to top it off LE. And let me not tell you about some of their quality, internationally known brands are coming out with shitty products because they're rushing to release a new must have. If you know your makeup is quality, your consumers will know your worth no matter what, whether you release a product every month or not. For me is quality over quantity any day!! Xoxo

Definitely agree bout the shades. I despise when people say that the very fair or very dark shades won’t sell as well bc more people are beige... Well you would only think that bc you haven’t seen those kinds of consumers?? They’re def out there—just has to be products available for them.

I've been so frustrated about there being no cool toned palettes! I love a warm makeup look but I don't need a whole warm palette (especially a big one) because it just won't work as well with my undertones. That's one of the reasons I love bright palettes so much because it's much closer to the jewel tones that so well work for me, and it's so much more flattering with my ice cold undertones lol.

I agree go away limit editions and lets us buy them anytime we want too

Amen to that. Not a fan of sharpie brows and over-inflated lips. And to think that when I was younger I got teased mercilessly because of my naturally full lips. Having fun with trendy things? Yes. Following trends like a sheep even if they don't suit you/flatter you? Not so much.

Sad that our young girls have that pressure with fillers botox and all those plastic interventions. Not only its dangerous and include risks for health but its also addictive and you Will constantly be unsatisfied. The problem isnt your appereance its in your head😔. I wish every girl would have self confidence and i wish older womens would accept To aged gracefully 😕. Every women are beautiful in their own ways and at every age🙂

I see pretty much only extreme instagram makeup on the employees at my local Sephora & Ulta; boxy brows, full coverage matte foundation, extreme contour & highlighting, cut crease etc. If that's what they like, then by all means they should wear it, but I have to wonder if they feel like they HAVE to wear it that way. I mean, in all fairness, I'm guessing many of their customers are young & want that look as well, but I find it hard to believe that they all have the same exact style & preferences. I also am not a fan of the colorful palettes usually being LE. I miss the Electric palette, though it wasn't LE, I'm sad it's gone
