Amazing, thank you so much this video helped for me I was on 22H2, did a downgrade and win 11 was again downloading, I stopped it for 7 days all updates and then did this after reading forums for an hour and then found you. Great video, very clear and worked for me. After restart I resumed updates and it was good, saying all up to date and up in red saying some updates are managed by my organization, which is the thing with registry. Thumbs Up!

When does no just mean no? Why do we have to go through all of this to get them to leave us alone?

I can't see that blue stinky button for W11 update, but I still have a message on the right side saying my device has the features for Windows 11, so I don't know if I stopped it, hope so. I did everything as you said. I wrote every step down before I even did it. I restarted my laptop too. Fingers crossed.

Seems like you missed a step. On my end both the updates for win 10 and 11 are 22H2. Figured you missed to add the 'ProductVersion' string then insert value as 'Windows 10'

EDIT: If the above still doesn't work for you, especially windows 10 pro users and above, you can use the "Group Policy Editor option."

Pffffft. Mine still tells me I can update to 11. I'll look somewhere else for help.

But what happens you your computer does have a windowsUpdate link and you don’t have to create one? You didn’t explain.

Latest Windows 10 updates are '22H2', but guess what? Windows 11 is also '22H2'. "Clever" folks at MS. I'm guessing if I code '22H2' then I'm gonna get Windows 11. No? As someone suggested, what if I create a key 'ProductVersion' and give it a value of 'Windows 10', do you know if that will keep me on Windows 10 and apply '22H2' updates?

Works only on Windows 10 Pro, if you have a Single version dont work, do you have any solution?

After doing the steps I still got the would you like to upgrade to windows 11. This is driving me mad.

Instead of clicking Start, then Settings, then System, then About, you can right-click the Start button and click on System. Open that page in 2 clicks instead 4 clicks and 4 screens.

Thank you Malik! It was driving me crazy being forced to upgrade! I have 11 on one of my laptops already and I am not a fan, and I wanted to keep 10 on my gaming laptop. I was afraid I was missing out on important updates by just stopping updates, so this is excellent!

Just a question I have Windows 10 now but someday maybe i'll update to Windows 11, and i have in W10 now MPO Disbled and if i update to W11 will MPO settings reset or will my MPO W10 MPO cause any big issues?

If you accidentally hit yes to the upgrade you can stop it in it's tracks by disabling the TPM module in your BIOS. It'll see it's not there and stop the download. It'll then show up in windows update as "pending".

Surely there is a way to do this without messing with registry keys. This may work but I will have to keep looking for another method.

is it equivalent to define ProductVersion and give it a value of Windows 10 rather than define a variable TargetReleaseVersionInfo and define Windows 10 there?
