It's sad to realize that people will probably make films about Nazi-like regimes for at least another 30 years before catching up to the current reality of global left-wing oppression.

Shades of “Metropolis”?

Each visual image was thoughtfully used and composed. Sound effects like fingertips brushing across the beard stubble of a face were noticed. Story interesting. Acting good. Wonderful editing. Visually stunning. The light ellipses during the creation of the wife robot a nod to the 1927 Metropolis. This took a lot of work and it shows!

Too boring, too disjointed...had to leave by 13.00

A lot of atmosphere, and obvious homages. The "it's alive" part was poorly executed. I'm not suggesting the the scientist actually had to say those words, but I think you know what I mean.

Exceptional short sci-fi! Fusion of steampunk, Nazi WWII, 1984, with a little Star Wars and a love story tossed in. Remarkable sets!

What was the story about?

Don't like the scientists decision, lack of awareness and cowardly vulnerability. But not too lazy with the animation except when contact between subjects.

Cinematography is absolutely stunning.

Wonderful film noir! Such a glorious combination of Terry Gilliam, Fritz Lang and Dr. Strangelove! What a great cast, the music is first rate and the effects are a real treat for the eye. Thank you for this fun little romp into the past of the future!

This more impressive than any film today tbh

I loved the retro-futurist Metropolis aesthetic. Unfortunately, the story doesn't make sense. Why would the regime hire a scientist to design a soldier droid if they already have worker droids that could be simply modified for war? And why would the scientist burn the droid along with the lab? He could have taken her head at least so that he could build her a new body later.

This was magnificent! I've got to say, the way the actor playing the General delivered the line "Oh, and doctor, remember... even a desert flower...die" is about 7 seconds of perfection in acting. It was disturbingly creepy.
