I don't understand the point of the compatibility mode on Windows. It seems to be the most common way for everyone around me since forever but I have not managed to run anything with it successfully since... forever.

My windows 10 page looks nothing like this. This looks like my old windows programs. Windows 10 makes everything near or actually impossible to find, unlike every other windows before 10.

Doesn't work for CD Rom's that's for sure and most of the comments here are saying this advice didn't work for them.

I was attempting to install my All-in-One HP-CM13212 Laser printer program driver. That printer was purchased in 2008. Therefore the printer driver program works in Win 7 but it wouldn't in Windows 10. However, after doing all that was shown in the video, the program wouldn't run in windows 10 so basically I then ran the program in DOS. That is, right click to run Command Prompt as administrator. (Running as administrator may not be necessary) Basically Command prompt is DOS. After downloading the driver program, I ran the program as follows:
C:\Users\Don\Downloads HP-CM1312-Win7.exe After that, I could print and scan from my desktop computer, just like I could with Windows 7. I could already make copies at the printer.

Apparently some older windows 7 programs that will not run directly by double clicking in windows 10, may run as DOS using Command Prompt.

This is good know, I was looking for a way to install an old quicken accounting software that quicken now wants 40 dollars a year just to keep running. The whole new business model is for companies to keep charging you yearly after downloading their app if you don't renew in order to keep using their software.

Getting to hate Microsoft is very easy since this company gave us constant problems since DOS version one I still have the original version. About the only good OS they came out with was Win98SE that would run both programs written for DOS and Windows, and many companies write these programs, and you have a fortune invested in them. Was talk about the Government taking over Microsoft or developing a universal system free to the public. But apparent Bill has more power than the US government.

Windows 10 won't run a ton of programs and many of these programs are not even available because Microsoft put them out of business. Not right that just one company has this power over us. And if Microsoft paid us minimum wage for all the problems we had with them, we would be billionaires and not Bill.
