Is it impressive to lock someone up on the ground for 3 minutes but not do any damage? What’s the point? In fact Islam was taking more damage from Volk punching him in the face while he was on his back. I think locking someone up on the ground for the sake of “controlling them” without doing any damage is completely pointless and shouldn’t be given points.

I think what upsets me is that Islam never got the #1 P4P spot. Even though Volk was coming from FW, on fight night he actually weighed 1-1.5k more than Islam. I don’t think that gives either a substantial edge, I’m just saying P4P list was MADE to answer the question: “If two fighters were the same weight, who would win?”

And it was never as close as people thought it was, regardless of what people say now, even the punch that Islam got caught with in the 5th round wasn't what made him drop, yet it was because he tried to level change and even though he got hit, that didn't really drop him, but it made it look like he did geg dropped in real time
