How to Calculate the PERFECT Tire Stretch

I have a baby stretch 235/40ZR18 on 18x8.5

Is 225/40 on 18x9.5 too much stretch??

Love the reply’s on such an old video, I have a question will 235/55/18 be good for 18x9.5 wheel?

I've got a question for tires with meatier sidewalls like race slicks. So for example I've got a set of 295/35R15 Hoosier R7 Autocross tires, and I'm trying to pick between 15x13 or 15x14 wheels. With the 14" barrel I'd be at a Stage 4 stretch (show car, goes on a trailer, don't worry about it) would that be different since it's a slick and they tend to run a little wider than street tires?

before watching this video i was a little nervous about how my 225/40 18s came out on my 18x9.5s but now i feel better with only being at a stage 1 setup. it looks great but im glad there is minimal safety concerns (or so i hope lol)

225 45 on a 10.5j is the definition of perfection in my eyes. Not too much stretch but not too little either. And no stupid hella low profile sidewall either so i wont have to worry about debeading almost at all

All these tuners" looove to stretch tires. Apparently, they also love body shops because I see tons of them with quarter panel damage because they separate their beads.
I built my hotrod (Mopar muscle) to do 160mph+. And it does that easily... Bead separation at that speed is a biiig no-no. I'll take a properly fit tire of the right speed rating and keep on driving, thank you. 😊

Erm, 255 is almost 10", but that is inner width of the rim, not outer, so you are getting a stretch for a 255 tire while using any wheel wider then 9". Just saying, still a good vid and helps.

215/35r19 on a 19x9.5 haven't had any issues as long as I keep my psi about 45psi with -12 degrees of camber. Sidewall ridin!

I admire the research and dedications for wheels/tires from you guys!! 🌹😍🙏🏼 BUT, the biggest elephant in the room would be every car has limitations on their wheel well for how wide of a wheel/tire can fit. So can we talk about tire width in inches VS Wheel Width please?

So am I running stretch with this combo? If yes, which stage stretch would it be exactly? I have no idea how to calculate this according to the wheels being 8.5 in width (which would be wider because of the lip ends correct?) Do you recommend a different tire? (I am in the market only for A/S Performance)

215/35 on 10wide, never deabeaded. Just run higher psi like 60

I currently have 275/30/24s all around, my back wheels are 24x10 and my fronts are 24x9 and if I was to go to a 255/30/24 on the front would that give me the same stretch 😅

I am so damn lost but I’ve been having issues trying to find wheels. I drive a 2010 Corolla s with 16 inch wheels. Unfortunately there’s really no options that are 16x6.5 but there are 16x7. Is that a big difference? Assuming no since it’s half a inch wider. But tips/advice please!
