Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas: SPECTACULAR hotel (Crete, Greece)

Is there anyone who can share about the wind in early September? I was about to book this place but suddenly wind issue came up from some reviews. I had a terrible holiday in Tenerife due to the wind that I didn’t know in advance. Thank you :)

Me and my whole family go to Daios Cove really often and always choose one of the villas. Its truly an amazing resort.

I hope they do not build too many more of these in Crete. I know local people here do not like these places. Soon, if they are not careful it will start looking like Turkey. At the moment you can still get local food in Crete from restaurants that procure from small farms. Many of the smaller tavernas get their meat and vegetables from small local producers they know - it is very community oriented. These huge resorts are having a devastating effect on prices, including land prices making such production unviable. The best part of Crete is the south; it is still unspoilt.But the locals tell me that a big major resort, like this one, is planned there -which will destroy the last unspoilt area in Crete, and one of the last in Greece. Times are tough already, thanks to austerity and other problems. but sooner or later, locals will be forced out of Crete. I notice the menus are not in Greek, and there is little Greek food. I suspect the workers are also not locals (most likely Albanians who work hard but get paid little). Crete has some of the best food in Greece. Head to the harbour towns to try the fresh fish And go to local taverna (you will have to do your research).

I could see this resort as a Six Senses in the future. It has the same vibe.

I'm from the Aegean region and it's beautiful but honestly I'm tired of barren rocks, olive trees and maquis. I'll take a beach with coconut trees anytime over this.

I thought that this horrible mania of "saving a place" using a towel put on the beach chair was only a Brazilian thing. We are not that bad though, since in both videos about Crete resorts people do it. So, it is a world practice after all! Thanks for sharing!

We stayed there in 2018 and just fell in love with the place! We stayed in One bedroom Suite with pool on Level 7. Spectacular views (even if a little windy up there!) and the cocktails are amazing! There is a hire car company just outside the gate and you can travel the island as its ideally located for touring the island.
