‘Nuts to begin with’: Antony Blinken expects Hamas to ‘come to its senses’ on a ceasefire
Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer says the expectation from the Biden administration that Hamas will come to its senses on a ceasefire deal is “nuts to begin with”.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Israel for talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pushing for a Gaza ceasefire plan, which is being backed by the UN.
“Suddenly, we think that somehow they are going to be good actors in this conversation – is crazy,” Mr Spicer told Sky News host James Macpherson.
“They are acting as though Hamas is some kind of pragmatic organisation that’s looking to a logical outcome.”
