How to return the serve if the server isn't serving from the centre line but right from the edge. The serve comes in very diagonal and the server chooses either to serve right at the back or farthest near the net inside the box which leaves a very wide angle of serve to cover. I hope I have explained properly.

I have a question - might be a bit outside your remit, but I may as well ask :) Firstly, just want to say I've recently taken up badminton and your channel has been an outstanding resource - thanks so much! But I'm having a real issue with serving because I only have one hand. I've managed to develop serves in table tennis, tennis, and squash, but I just can't figure out how to make it work in badminton. Is there any advice you could give? It doesn't have to be world-beating, but it would be nice to have consistency. What you would do if you were forced to develop a serve that uses only one hand? Thank you!

Is there any rule against resting the shuttlecock on the racket strings prior to striking it for the serve? My coach suggested I rest my wrist (the one holding the shuttlecock) on my racket instead and hit the shuttlecock with some space inbetween the racket and it.
