"Midges once climbed inside my Sigma 70-200" - Dave Gilbert
ОтветитьThis video looks great. Very well lit. Content great too. Thanks.
ОтветитьHold up! You never heard of Ansel Adams? But you think Casey Neistat is important?? Going to guess that was in jest? ... Ansel Adams is an actual legend, he is responsible for some of the best B&W landscape photography ever, and also some of the best ever quotes. Such as "There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept" also: "Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships". His work is flippin' amazing. He used gigantic full format cameras and often shot at f/64, his images were insanely sharp, and that was the early 1900's
ОтветитьEntertaining as alway Mr Popsys , I don't know who that Guy Adams is either was he any good ? :-) .
ОтветитьA little loud on the beeps between bits in this video. Thanks for the content though.
Ответить“What separates a really good photographer from the ordinary photographer is when the good photographer gets lucky, he doesn’t miss,” Neil Leifer .
"I missed the focus and shutter speed." Me
James, really enjoyed that video.
Mike
True equipment doesn't matter true. Casey could film himself with a potato or with a red epic and it'd still be worthless content.
ОтветитьGood video James, enjoyed your thoughts.

There are no rules for good photos, there are only good photos.
The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it.
#3 all day... or one or two will be good at the start then diminishing returns -then this bastard in the back of my head chimes in 'well that just shows you CLEARLY need practice...'
ОтветитьThank you! I loved this video. So honest.
Ответитьgood one mate....
ОтветитьLMAO, thanks for the quotes!
Ответить"A photo or video without a sheep is a wasted opportunity" James Popsys Never
ОтветитьLove it and I love YOU.
ОтветитьQuite the synopsis
ОтветитьHilarious, intelligent and great music! :)
ОтветитьI googled Andel Asams and couldn't find anything to do with photography :(
ОтветитьI stopped watching after about the 6th beep. That's pretty annoying before you've finished your first cup of coffee.
ОтветитьWhere is 'if your photos not good enough, you're not near enough' by that Capa bloke? You should defiantly get that one in somewhere as its one of the most useful to bear in mind...…. in my opinion. Very entertaining as usual.
ОтветитьGreat video! Definitely agree with the "never pack up your camera before leaving the location". This got me some nice images in the past several times.
ОтветитьI live in a shit neighborhood. I have to pack my camera up before I get home or I risk getting mugged.
Ответить<3
ОтветитьIt WAS interesting.!
ОтветитьGreat video as always. I'm glad you shared these quotes with us all. Words for thought :)
ОтветитьNice location for the printer....
ОтветитьVery much enjoyed this video. And drunk notes always seem so brilliant at the time, don't they :)
ОтветитьIt was interesting, I enjoyed it.
ОтветитьMore about taking pictures already (stop talkin up M43 just because you bought into too)
ОтветитьPhotography is the ability to capture luck.
ОтветитьWhile i was watching this and listing to ya, i put - without noticing - my potato crisps in my coffeepot. Neat.
ОтветитьGreat video mate! I’m sure I was with you in the pub in 2013 when the kayak to Morocco plan was hatched!
ОтветитьGreat vlog as always James. Can't believe you've never heard of Ansel Adams though. He was the master of b+w landscape photography.
ОтветитьGreat video, but that beep is sooo annoying
ОтветитьYou should do this once a year. Love the quotes.
ОтветитьAsking a photographer what gear they used for a shot is like asking a chef what knife or pot they used.
Ответить"Do not store your camera before you are home" is really a problem here in Rio. Because you might just not get home WITH your camera. hahaha
ОтветитьCool !
ОтветитьI was in the military as a photographer/videographer and people always used to ask me how I got such good shots. I'd always tell them my favorite piece of advice when it came to especially video, but that was to "Zoom with your feet." So, Id have to say thats one of my favorite quotes about this that I know.
ОтветитьLong my favorite quote is by a famous 19th century French photographer,
"If I knew how to take a good photograph, I'd take one every time."
—Robert Doisneau
My favorite quote is "Some things you just have to remember" by Marcel Konecny. He said that during some interview I once read where he was talking about him chasing the gorillas and running out battery in the moment when he encountered them or something like that. Remembering that quote removes a lot stress when the same happens to me.
Btw, like your videos, thanks a lot for them. And I finally realized whom you remind me of. Mranda. Yes, that sitcom character.
Great tips. And very entertaining!
ОтветитьLove this but one of my personal one is from a top golfer ( not sure who ). Goes something like this, he was asked if he was a lucky golfer, he replied “yes, and the more a practice the luckier I get “
ОтветитьWho is Ansel Adams? ffs!
ОтветитьYour vlogs should be called, "The Popsys Synopsis".
ОтветитьSo good!
ОтветитьBest value for money on your website… absolutely nothing(s) 😘 Love your work
