Rimworld Thrumbo FACTS

I have a world in wich i boxed the whole thing in and when thrumbos spawned, i opened a hole near then while they slept and locked them in. About 3 ingame momths later i tamed them. I have a lot now lol

I'm pretty sure a legendary thrumb fur parka makes it possible to survive absolute zero.

I think is funny to have raids when you have tames a bunch of these

Just think about it, this creatures are practically mythological (They dont talk because they dont want to)

This was the first think I ever had self tame in my first colony as well years ago, her name was Matilda and she died of dementia, I've never been lucky enough to tame another one and I never have the inspiration when they're around

How do I butcher stuff cuz I can’t make my colonist butcher the dead animals?

The only thing about Thrumbos that is not a fact is that they are rare. “Rare Thrumbo” is just the name of their species.

Thrumbos can be killed even more efficiently by making a trap by bricking in a steam geyser but leaving one block undone to let them in by. Put pemmican next to the geyser, let the Thrumbo in to eat it, and brick them in like Fortunato. Wait for nature to take its course, then unbrick the trap and harvest the Thrumbo. The same trap can be used for multiple Thrumbos, as they will not damage the walls, but just kind of submit to the inevitable.

Every one of those I've ever had have self tamed 💀 And I mean a lot of them-

Im on xbox. I have 32 colonist, and ive been at war with the rough outlander faction known as Nanium. Their leader, grasshopper, while visiting, went into a rage and punched my carrier dryad. Its been 4 years since, and ive destroyed 7 settlements. Ive sent 11 of my main force, The Reservists, on black and blue, and my kild team, in black and red, to the settlement farthest to the west that we could reach. There, we will dig in and entrench as we cleanse this filth from our home. With this info, I will make thrumbo fur pants and shirts to go with their marine and recon armor.

About 2 in every 3 of my colonies, I have a thrumbo selftame.

Ive learned swords are iffy. I made a masterwork steel sword that did 21 damage. I later managed to make a legendary plasteel that did 19 damage. Than made a legendary steel sword that did 17. Its kinda weird

They are also super hot

Dont know why everyone says to use inspiration, my lvl12 animal tamer managed it just fine, i was honestly hoping she would make it angry so I would have an excuse to kill it.

A thrumbo self-tamed in my save, but none of my colonists can tame it, so its kinda just vibing in the pin till its level of tame-ness gets to low.

Tamed a thrumbo once, spent the rest of the colony's lifespan waiting for a female thrumbo to pair it with. Of course I wasn't able to tame another one, even though I did get more of those events, so I basically just kept that single thrumbo as a pet. Later I realised that I could use VTE's contracts to buy a thrumbo, but after getting a second male thrumbo through this method I figured it just isn't worth the time

Damn... i once got a character with level 18 melee kill a group of three, and i thought that was normal, now im realizing that wasn't a simple task.

I like them... but remember to not let them close to your chocolate trees...

It took an whole month for them to grow... just for my couple of thrumbos to nom nom them all to death...

Subzero temperatures and underselling it. -100 degrees is "solid carbon dioxide" temperatures. A full thrumbo fur outfit would let you comfortably stand around in the coldest earth temperatures ever recorded for as long as you liked.

One of the funniest incidents I’ve had involving thrumbos, was where I had a decent amount of thrumbos in the colony and two different freezers that had a metric shitton of food in em.. one of the thrumbos ended up going wild in the freezer. Because it was able to survive the sub-zero temps, it just… lived there, until the colony ended via an update that broke the mods for it. One of my funniest and fave memories involving Thrumbos, because cryptid freezer thrumbo is a hilarious vibe.

Yeah, I'm painfully aware that they eat trees. One of my early colonies self-destructed when a herd of thrumbo decided to snack on my anima trees and the psychic screams caused them all to either give up or fly into a rage and get killed by the thrumbo.

A thrumbo self tamed itself and died from a raid, I didn't care much and just placed its corpse outside but now ....sh*t, I freakin regret itttt😫

Capturing tip : find a way to prison them
(Build around them : can be very frustrating if they are not cooperative
Find a way to knock em down : dangerous and can lead to unwanted permanent injuries on the animal)

Now that they are in prison : MAKE SURE YOU PROVIDE THEM FOOD
If they are hungry THEY WILL break your wall.

Now that you have a thurmbo in a prison and some food with him, you have ALL the time you need to tame them. Enjoy

I like to wall in the thrumbos and leave kibble for them while my animal handlers roll the dice. It can take years if you don’t get an inspiration.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with something like this in real life.

Oh so using a multi kiloton nuke on it was justified

In order to tame thrumbos, down the creature, put medical animal sleeping spot in a room and then continuously attempt to tame it until done

The chances of getting an inspiration at the same time as thrumbos is surely so rare. I usually just tame every animal I can to level up and slaughter them if I dont want them. Still haven't had a thrumbo in my colony yet.

A trumbo self tame so i thought i was ready to beat the war queen with pig alies and human alies but trombo could kill those small Robots from the Queen

I had one playthrough where I tamed 4 of these within a few days. No inspiration used. Husbandry for 2 pawns was decent. Still very low chance. I had one that finally tamed after a year of trying. Had to trap it to keep it from leaving the map. Once it tamed, 3 others in the areas tamed pretty fast. I then had myself two breeding pairs.

Another way to tame a thrumbo is to give it like a million tiny wounds with a machine pistol then tend them once they're down. Each tend has a small chance to tame

spawn as 5 fcking f*rrytakins
spawn in a fcking rainforest
tame all 2-10 elephants and fcking traim them
raid ancient tombs and kill fcking mechanoids, repeat 5 times
go to the ship on the map
congraluations. now you have fcking end game armours, weapons, elephants whose will turn into meals while defending you and ship , will get you out of this fcking planet

Bro my first playthrough i got the rumbo suddenly instant tame idk but it's hard because my location is dessert no trees also eating my farm so had to killed it
