Is the saddle that Andy said he prefers standard on any or all Taylor models?
ОтветитьDove posso trovare la trascrizione delle spiegazioni per tradurre e finalmente capire tutte le vostre spiegazioni?
Where can I find the transcriptions of the explanations to translate and finally understand everything you say?
Thru a led lihgt you can see the denssity of the bone. Then you can pick the one thats more dens all the wey acros
ОтветитьGood information
ОтветитьHi guys can you help me! I'm a Taylor guitar user and I really need your help. I've been using my 816ce Taylor since 2013 and I'm having issues with its nut. I was just wondering what nut size should I use to replace it. Thank you if you will respond.
ОтветитьTaylor is the best!!!😃😃
ОтветитьPhenolic material?
ОтветитьI hate bone, it quacks
Tusq is better

ОтветитьPorosity topic was worthwhile. Makes sense that the more consistency we can get out of the saddle, the more likelihood our tonal differences will be predictable also. So having a controlled building of density in a layered approach makes sense that the impact across the base and treble will be more predictable in the change to the sound transfer. I like that.
ОтветитьWhat is Toby doing here
ОтветитьToby makes Guitars? Toby Guitars?
Ответитьmy saddle is tusq
ОтветитьNut material doesn’t mean a lot for guitars, buts it’s all the difference in the world for babies.
ОтветитьI took the bone out of my 214ce and went back to Micarta not sure if I'll try Tusq on my 814ce or not, it's up for a new nut and probably saddle too.
ОтветитьToby from the office plays guitar?
ОтветитьEverything affects the tone. Even the logo on the headstock...:D
ОтветитьThis was more like a video defending Taylor Guitar's Micarata saddle. Sheesh.
ОтветитьI'm a Fender guy when it comes to electrics so brass is what I would go with on acoustics, because of the bright tone. This video was more of an advertisement for their own guitars with him just saying that their saddle material is better than bone. Take this videos information with a grain of salt, and buy different saddles for yourself. Plastic is dull with less sustain, bone is right in between with better sustain and clarity, and brass is the polar opposite of plastic with brighter tones, yet still with the same or more sustain than bone.
ОтветитьInteresting information. I have a Big Baby Taylor with the Micarta Saddle and Nubone nut and the guitar sounds incredible and sustains for days (and it's a pure acoustic, no pick-up).
I'm sure everybody has their preferences but I couldn't be happier with the sound!!
The only reason that I chose to install a 'Tusq' nut is for better lubracation, that's all. As Andy Powers points out, the nut will have no influence on fretted notes. If there is an advantage for better tone when open strings are played, then all the better. At the very least, a nut made from synthetic material can't hurt.
ОтветитьSmall, but if you play mainly open chords. Would it still be small?
ОтветитьThank you! Really not much difference... I'll save the money to buy better guitar or strings which will make so much more difference...
ОтветитьToby Flenderson....
ОтветитьIs Nubone ok to use as saddle and nut?
ОтветитьBad ass,thanks
ОтветитьI can see how from a factory/mass production standpoint the most consistent material would be easiest to work with...but for pure tone on a single instrument nobody is choosing mikarda over bone or real ivory. A natural substance is always better than a synthetic one in my book
ОтветитьIt's him talking and not much else at all. Skip it...
ОтветитьNo one ever uses Bone Capos, or Tusq capos, enough said 😂
But I agree a quality well cut nut all day
Wrong ca. Punk bone is better yeah just trying to get by cheap
ОтветитьI think taylor race up the prices for their guitars alot 4000 for a guitar a think is to much
ОтветитьI visited the guitar center by my house and i see this guitar take forever for sale, is taylor thinking about this high prices?
ОтветитьThe Micarta saddles look great. I need to replace the saddle on my 1996 710. On the Taylor site I see a Micarta called "NS" and another called "Wave". Which one is correct for a 710? Thanks.
Ответить“Composite version of plywood”
And that’s your description of the saddle Taylor uses.
Yikes
Hi from Spain. I have an early 814CE with the fishman piezo and I have had the bridge saddle replaced twice with bone which I think was the original material. I find for my style that my guitar sounds too bright, would changing to "micardo"(I think that is what you said?) make the sound more mellow? Is there a particular model for an 814CE or are all Taylor bridge saddles compatable? Your video was very informative, Kind regards,John.
ОтветитьI hope I don't end up wearing a hat like this.
ОтветитьAll talk, no show
ОтветитьAt least your name isn't Andy Taylor...
ОтветитьWhat about Tusq? I bought a bone saddle for my 910 and I swear it killed the tone.
ОтветитьOff topic, but I love your hat! Where did you get it?
ОтветитьInteresting. Gibson puts a bone nut and bone saddle on the high end custom shop acoustics, namely the Songwriter custom and J45 custom. Both have the LR Baggs VTC system.
ОтветитьWhat about other knife handle materials like stabilised wood, Kirinite etc?
