I loved the idea of this video but couldn't understand a word he was saying. Maybe he should have spit out the beans before talking.

Not one, not two, but three of the ugliest cars you could ever see. I know that the Falcon sold and the Tbird did ok, but hard to look at!

I've owned over 30 cars in my 78 years starting with a 1950 Plymouth and 1957 Chrysler then year's of buying GM until gm just lost it in the 1980s. Last gm car was avalanche in 2008. After that it was vw and kia. Just bought a Hyundai palisade which is closest to freeway cruiser gm used to make

There is enough fish heads to dump on almost everybody.
(1) Bleep the UAW. Those clowns w/o health care co-pays ADDED $3000 Bucks to the retail price on Big 3.5 vehicles.
(2) UAW did not want MODULAR Engine Foundry Tech. I.E. the plant could have quickly molded 4,6,or 8 cylinder Engine Blocks depending on demand across GM brands & models. UAW killed it.
(3) BTW the Valve/Cylinder 4,6,8 operation Did Not Work Well, AND, it Still dragged around a big V-8 block.
(4) Bob Lutz KILLED the EV1 in late 2003. EV-1 was a commuter car w/ 100 mile range. Available By Lease ONLY. By 2003 they called them ALL back, most for destruction.
(5) Vega & Pinto quality & safety disasters, and Covair too much bad press but finally fixed. Reputation was beyond repair.
(6) By mid 70s Toyota imported 1.6L & 2.0L models that were safe, efficient, & roomy. By 80s to 90s, Japanese production began in America IN THE US SOUTH away from UAW.
THEY JUST DIDN'T WANT TO GO WHERE & TO WHAT THE CUSTOMERS WANTED.

America from the year 1900 to 1980 was very iconic and nostalgic. All in terms of stylish transportation designs, architecture, military, economic growth, affluent middle class wealth, urban planning, cosmic dreams, and experimentation with so many new technical concepts! Amazing!

so, this film, though interesting does not really go into other car co. except by mere mention. The big 3 were invested overseas where small cars were made and were quite successful. When the 70's hit they reinvented the wheel so to speak and failed. They already had success overseas with the Ford Cortina and Chrysler valiant in Australia mostly. gm had the Opel and bought Saab and was heavily invested in Toyota and Honda. Subaru also. but they didn't bring it here where it could have been successful here also. They decided to reinvent. It seems there were other things at hand that we don't know and has not been in full light. To be fair Honda, though backed by gm was later than 1970 for gm backing. but the others weren't. Not to get into a rage but the Corvair was to save the day and when the re-design of it came by 1963 or 64. Ralph Nader had already killed it and they couldnt sell them even though they were the greatest invention of modern automaking. Ralph killed the small car market and the makers turned to muscle cars instead. Ralph nader single handedly killed the production of small cars and the makers were apprehensive to build more. I guess the cortina had done so well for ford that if he killed it here it would die out in europe as well and they maybe didnt want to risk good sales in europe.

1968 Pontiac GTO convertible. 400 with a 4 barrel carb, hurst dual gate tranny, electric top with glass rear window, posi-trac rear, craig 8 track tape player, Pontiac green, black interior, hush thrush exhaust, rear air shocks, fat tires in the rear and smaller tires upfront. Really nice car wrecked by an old girlfriend. Needless to say- she was gone quickly after.

1955 to about 1972 American cars were on fire, especially Chevy. the lineup up of different Chevy models was ridicules. Dodge got some late 60s early 70s sexy cars. Ford has been disappointing, all they give us really is the damn Mustang, and that 302, which i love by the way, but has been R&Dd enough. not hattin on Ford, i love the 33 truck, 55 truck and late 60s trucks. now there has been good car since 72, one here and there, but there will never be another 1960s, everyone was knockin it out. then two income house came and cost of live goes 3x through the roof.

I don't know how people can laugh and be happy. I've tried my hardest, all my life to build something I could genuinely be happy about. And this has all taught me that their is no way for people like me to succeed. No matter how hard I struggle, no matter what I achieve, no matter who I help along the way, I will never receive any type of advancement, or recognition for anything. I can't laugh and pretend everything is alright, because I know from experience that everything is not alright. There is no hope. I'm gonna die isolated, penniless, and alone.

For those of us who lost half (or all) of our family members to these damn cars it was not progress. It was viscous and still is. Look at the yearly stats of deaths on I95 alone and you'll soon see just how evil these things are. Oddly enough my uncle lost control of his motorcycle at 90mph on a highway and walked away from the accident with a few broken ribs. Obviously this was extremely fortunate. Today I use an eBike and keep my head on a swivel.
