Mine delivers this Friday. Thanks for a great review/reassurance!
ОтветитьWondering your opinion on this A6700 vs A7CII vs A7cR? Seems very similar in features, comparing well to the A7CII and A7Cr, big difference being APS-C vs FF and the higher prices of the new FF cameras. Wondering if you think the difference in low light performance and bokeh will be justified?
ОтветитьFinally a proper review cheers mate even better your from aus too 🫱🏼🫲🏽
ОтветитьThe a6600 was way more expensive when it came out. Adjust for inflation, the a6700 is much cheaper. I think the a6700 could have maybe been a little cheaper, but overall I think it's in a good place. As an a6600 user, definitely worth the upgrade and price over the ZV-E10
ОтветитьLOL - 11 fps is way off the pace - M43 cameras from 5-6 years ago can smoke it with their mech shutters and also can do up to 60fps full size RAW files with electronic shutter. Does it has any sort of WR body sealing?
ОтветитьGoing for lighter and compact cameras, I switched to Sony’s a6xxx series and ended on a6600. No longer keen on changing lens and already in my mid-seventies, I switched to point&shoot fixed lens Sony RX100 series. I’m now waiting for the RX100 VIII model.
ОтветитьHow about xs20 fujifilm? Even xs10 from 2020 is just like this a6700
ОтветитьWhat lenses would you recommend to get with this camera? Have been seriously considering it since the announcement, but I have an A7III with some full frame lenses and I don't know if that's the best for portability and/or kit composition in general.
ОтветитьWhy is it so important when it is cropped sensor?
ОтветитьThanks for video! I’m an a6500 user and have worked on some big brand video sets using it. I really feel like the a6700 is going to take my work to the next level. I’m so excited to get it.
ОтветитьI've ordered mine for $2299
ОтветитьMy favorite camera would be an Alpha 77 III . With the same characteristics and a second card-slot . That would be a real game-changer. And not just for nostalgic motives. Same with the Alpha 99 . A Alpha 99 III model with the characteristics of the Alpha 9 III ! Back to future !
Ответитьjust bought one, thanks for your share. What kind of filter will be better? Kase or Nisi?
ОтветитьI'm getting back into shooting and after seeing your video I will be getting the a6700. Thanks for the informative video 🫰
Ответитьtorn between A7IV or This a6700
ОтветитьWorld love to update my a6500 and a6000 but need to save up for the a7 mark v which is due out in less than a year... hopefully.
ОтветитьGreat job on the video Pat! Thanks for making it. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Sony is going to use this new sensor in an FX60 offering. A cinema camera with internal variable ND, AND IBIS priced at ~$3500-$4000 (US) would be super appealing.
ОтветитьThey waited for Leica t system to die off
ОтветитьGreat overview! Just wonder, where are the sample files in the description? :) Thx, have a great one 🇦🇺.
ОтветитьDepending on the A7C II updates I may consider the a6700 as my 1st actual camera.
Ответитьall great and dandy, but how about using a stock lens setup, not lenses that cost more then camera itself.
Ответитьgreat vid - volume a bit too low
ОтветитьIm shooting on a a6600, and i was excited to see what Sony would release for the a6700. And, honestly, i just went and bought a second a6600 body. Im mainly shooting portraits and weddings (stills). The main thing that wouldve enticed me to buy the a6700 was rumors of a second memory card slot, but without that, it just doesnt make sense to me to pay $500 more for a 6700. There are certain things on the 6700 that are really nice: faster writing speeds and less buffering when shooting 11fps - thats great, but, really, not essential.
You also make a great point about ISO: theres AI denoising software that is so easy to use, that paying >$1000 for a full frame camera is less appealing.
thumbnail is not an A6700
ОтветитьSony has been very cautious with apsc releases for the last few years in order to protect their full-frame sales.
Since a6600, more than 10 full-frame camera bodies have been released (a9ii, FX9, a7s3,..., a7r5, ZV-E1), compared with only 2 aspc bodies (ZV-E10, FX30).
As "super 35" has been good enough for movies, my immediate choice would be between the FX30 and the A6700. The latter is lighter, has AI features and a view finder. In trade, the FX30 is bigger, heavier but sports a fan and dual card slots. (I don't know if the focusing coverage is the same)
I'm not worried about the fan, as we shoot only fairly short scenes, with enough time in between.
I haven't decided, still verifying if the sensors are indeed identical...
If u are getting a sony full frame for the Experiance... dont bother, save money n grab an apsc trust me😂, i got an a7iv and it was disappointing to see zero difference, ill never buy fullframe or sony again
ОтветитьCool overview, thanks!
As per today, why should a still photographer choose a a6700 over a Sony FF one? Being even not so cheap (but powerful) in the alpha line.
Was waiting for this camera for a long time. Using a6400 now. So tempted to upgrade it right away or exchange my a6400 body maybe
ОтветитьYou forgot the most important metric; weight.
ОтветитьIt is about expensive lens talk about that not only cam 😎
ОтветитьLooks like a fantastic camera! For the longest time I've been meaning to switch over to sony from my FF Nikon, and now that this has come out, I think I'm going to pick this over the A7IV to get my foot in the door for the Sony system, with the extra cash saved I intend to get FE glass for an upgrade in the future (A7V)
Thoughts on this? Or should I still go for the A7IV? Thanks!
would you recommend this as an upgrade from a zve10 owner?
ОтветитьLove the specs, but I cant afford a new cam this year though.. Jared Polin is not a big fan of that a6700 😅😅
ОтветитьGreat featured camera but I think the price here in Australia is about $500 too high for me to make a switch from my a6400.
ОтветитьInteresting camera indeed, but as a stills shooter, I would stick with my A6600 for a while longer. The new layout and features certainly look like they will provide better, more intuitive shooting experience, but for my use case, they can wait. Perhaps in a year’s time I’d reconsider.
ОтветитьI think the A6700 is an incredible camera, and I think it's a critical camera for APS-C.
But I still want this as a full frame, such as the A7Cii
As a long time Sony apsc user am excited about this one. I have the A6500 it's time to upgrade.😂😂
ОтветитьSo many cameras
Ответитьfinally 10bit 4:2:2, it's time for upgrade
ОтветитьIt's the same price as a6600 in the US & Japan. Is it different in Australia?
ОтветитьYou are only ready to buy this camera if the one you have cant do what you want it to do. They were singing about the A6600 as well and everything else before it.
ОтветитьYay, it’s nice to see that Sony has imposed the damn side hinged selfie screen on us 🙄
A tilt screen is so much better.
I really don’t want to have to reach over with my left hand, pull out, twist and re-align every time I want to shoot low or high. Then I have to look left away from the axis of the lens constantly as I’m shooting. Then if I want to continue using the screen I have to leave it sticking out to the side which isn’t just inconvenient it also tells everyone you’re shooting. It’s not discreet. Then I’d have to repeat all of the above again and again when I want to place it back in place.
The tilt… it’s so much quicker, literally a finger flick and it’s behind the camera constantly. It’s discreet, fast and unobtrusive.
Why do camera manufacturers think all we do is vlog or take selfies? I’ve shot around 500 weddings and events now and do you know what… I’ve never once had to shoot myself.
Could this be as important as the a73 and the a7s3
ОтветитьOooh Pat, I love this. Thanks for your review. Loved your shots of the Sydney coat hanger too 😊 👍 Dave
Ответитьso many great cameras to choose from
Ответитьi have the sony a6000, but i want to move to a point and shoot. Do you think the sony RX100 mk 4 or 5 is good ?
Ответитьis this going to be the only tier of this generation? like no new 6100 or 6400?
ОтветитьAs an owner of ZV-E10 I see no point of upgrading to this one, especially for double the price
ОтветитьUh oh 240fps fhd - I know what Casey at camera conspiracies is making a video about next
Ответить
