If I became God, I'd probably just will into being all the games I wish were made or thought would be cool. Like a Snatcher remake in the FOX Engine and gameplay similiar to LA Noire. Or an Earthbound remake in the Link's Awakening remake style. Or a 1rst person Manhunt remake in the RE Engine. Probably tons of new Castlevania. Maybe even a spinoff cell-shaded semi-open world Castlevania loosely based on the Netflix animation. A semi-photorealistic yet still stylized Zelda game that doesn't have to worry about the ESRB so they could have blood and mature themes. And then I guess I'd just put some kind of shield around everyone that works kind of like in Dune, and it prevents people from being murdered or committing crime. Like it stops shoplifting or assault and will restrict movement and emit EMP that destroys the persons device when they try to commit white collar crimes. It's a very complex and nuanced system, but it works because God willed it. I'd probably stop acts of excess and vanity like trophy hunting wild animals, or unnecessary cruelty like boiling animals alive. Other than that, they can generally do what they want. Then they can sort the world out in a civilized manner and work on scientific, intellectual, and philosophical matters until they reach some form of ascension, peace, and equilibrium. Then I can just play Castlevania: Allegria of Resignation or whatever game I will into being. Now that may be stripping humans of a fair amount of agency, but in this hypothetical, it's a God who can do anything, rather than a human leader making a "greater good" argument. If I had to put humans in a playpen so that nobody would ever be mauled, murdered or sexually assaulted or wronged in any other way and that no living thing would ever be harmed or killed outside of what is used for food or has some other justification like harvesting venom to make antidotes and things like that. That's not even remotely a decision. Oh, and also tons and tons of Ace Combat games, The Evil Within 3, a Chibi Robo port for Switch, and a Majoras Mask remake that doesn't alter any of the story, but is done in a photorealistic yet uncanny and stylized fashion that evokes feelings like Alice would feel in Wonderland. Regarding Serial Experiments, i think its also worth mentioning how it more or less approaches solipsism and the idea of what constitutes reality. You could perhaps say it suggests that truth and information are in a sense, one and the same. Some would say Lain is about the internet, and to a degree that is true, but mostly in that the internet is a way of connecting people via information. I would suggest this is why it is called "the wired" as it relates to things being connected together. If i was to suggest what exactly lain the character is (besides a "goddess") i think it would be an egregore. I dont think people were "tricked" into thinking she was there in the same way that her "sister" disappearing, or her reverting time at the end i dont think are illusions. The idea is that by manipulating information itself, you are also manipulating reality itself.

Some of the concepts discussed here are key elements to the story of the Foundryside trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett.

It also deals with godhood, mankind's tendency towards competition and violence, and a solution to that problem.

Foundryside, Shorefall, and Locklands, are the three titles, and I found the audiobooks narrated by Tara Sands to be excellent.
