This Janes not pretty and this Elizabeth is not slim
Good thing that Lydia wasn't here. Her pride over being the first of the sisters to marry would have taken a brutal beating due to Jane and Elizabeth having a proper, formal, wedding in their own own parish with so many attendees, as contrasted to her own bare bones elopement that foreshadowed what her marriage would really be like. I also find it amusing how visibly devastated the Bingley sisters are at Caroline losing Darcy.
THE BEST VERSION EVER
I know the main focus who is supposed to be Elizabeth and mr. Darcy. However the priest speech about marriage is so crucial and needs to be taken seriously.
What true Romance, and deeply happy marriages, should always be......
How vulgar, demeaning, and almost filthy, the "Modern World," by comparison....
Lizzie's comment to her father that Darcy is "the best man I have ever known" would bring a more reflective father to tears. Either that comment goes over Mr. Bennet's head or he understands and accepts his own shortcomings as a father. But to his credit, he did support Lizzie's right to reject Mr. "Crazy" Collins.
Three daughters, married! Oh, Mr. Bennet, God is being very good to us."
Yeah imagine your daughters married to two of the most resourceful gentlemen with combined wealth of nearly £ 15,000 a year (minus Lydia, since her marriage is basically an annual financial burden) in those desperate time, I'll be as happy as Mrs. Bennet LOL
I love how both couples are so perfectly matched!
He smiled!!!!!! ❤
I love watching this clip, for the most part, to relish in the expressions of deep consternation and abject humiliation of "Lady Catherine de Bourgh" and "cousin Mr. Collins"
I love how each point the vicar makes is punctuated by an example. So very clever how you can say so much in just a few shots.
I was blessed enough to find my Darcy, we had a happy union for 48yrs, until he passed this earth. I pray I join him one day.
Very interesting that Elizabeths bouquet is larger than Janes , wonder if that was on purpose.
Great movie !
Jane is supposed to be beautiful…
Sorry, I am not from th UK. May I ask you is it possible to have double wedding in the church? Or it is just imagination of screenwrites?
I finished watching this for the nth time and this is the first time that I cried at the end.. when they are walking from the carriage and Darcy was smiling, I am like Mrs. Benneth, crying with joy and so proud of them, they got their happy ending after many detours.. well deserved.l
Ответитьtrue love's kiss 💘 wow
The only glitch in this BBC version is that, they have skipped the rapture of Mrs Bennett on Elizabeth telling her about her engagement with Mr Darcy. That itself is an important event.
10. ¡VIVAN LOS NOVIOS!.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The best ending, my favorite movie.
ОтветитьCaroline = 😠😤 lol
I gotta find my Mr. / Mrs. Darcy
My favorite of Jane Austin's stories.
Greatest Jane Austen screen adaptation of all time.
I hate period dramas. I am big fella playing rugby. So why did I find this series unmissable, why could I not miss every episode and why oh why did I, with the Mrs boss with me, have to pretend to have watery eye syndrome on this final episode!
Mr. Darcy has that smile every man wants to carry. I told you world us men deserve happiness and good feelings.
Ответитьi have watched both the 2005 and 1995 versions and this one is by far my favorite. for some reason i always tear up seeing darcy smile!! the only thing i wish they would have added was the scene from the book where lizzie asks when he fell in love with her-- "I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun." seeing this in the miniseries would have been the icing on the cake!!!
I just finished rereading the book. The conversation with her farther is almost verbatim what was said in the book! I love how close they kept to the original story and lines! My favorite version by far! The actors did a great job! They’re just how I pictured them as I read the book! Elizabeth Bennet will always be one of my favorite book characters! Jane Austen was such a genius and great at describing human character. Can’t wait to watch this all over again!
Everyone’s taking about the dashing young men, but I defy you to find better acting chemistry than Lizzy and Mr. Bennet. He is just so perfect for the role, and they have a touching relationship, underlying all the jokes.
The clothes seemed authentic. The only issue I had was with their wedding dresses which considering their wealth seemed average and dull at best.
A double wedding is implied in the book as it’s described in the first sentence of chapter 61:
“Happy for all her maternal feelings was the day on which Mrs. Bennet got rid of her two most deserving daughters.”
Maybe Lizzy took her mother’s suggestion to get married by a special license, and perhaps Darcy didn’t mind with that.
Now I wonder if both Lizzy and Darcy went straight to Pemberley that day or maybe stayed at Netherfield or other towns for a night because it’s too far from Longbourn. But I guess they wanted to get out of there especially Mrs. Bennet as soon as possible, having both her and Mrs. Phillips in the same place was pushing their patience😅
So many problems with this. Jane and Elizabeth's clothes for their wedding are far too plain. The guests and mother are better dressed. The brides should be wearing family jewels or jewelry gifts from their grooms. If either family's jewels included tiaras the brides would wear them on their wedding day as only married women can wear them. Surprisingly, neither Kitty, Mary nor Georgiana were bridesmaids. In the outside scene, Georgianna Darcy is seen throwing something down Elizabeth's cleavage giving support to Mr. Wickham's comment that she isn't promising and a lie of Elizabeth's comment that she is past her most trying years. A proper lady wouldn't behave like that. As feared it appears that instead if elevating the Bennett's position it has brought down the Darcy's.
I just watched "Bridget Jones's Diary" over the weekend and I can't get over the fact that the actor who plays Mr Bingley is actually in the movie too hahahaha
I know it’s not accurate to the book but I love the alternative final ending of the movie when Elizabeth tells Mr. Darcy he would call her Mrs. Darcy only when he is completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy, and then he calls her several times Mrs. Darcy while kissing her face.
This was so much better than any other rendition
Sucks being Gay in this time period. I'm so glad for Progress
I love the way the father cared for the daughter to not disrespect a man for only marrying for his status and money, despite the fact the family is short of money.
A single man of good fortune must be on want of a wife. Agreed!
