The black coating on copper metal is obviously a form of copper oxide, and if you've made this with a certain flame temp., then there is also a red copper oxide beneath the black layer; and it has been shown to be semiconducting material for electric currents to flow through... wow score

If you turned off the external flame, how long is the appropriate temperature maintaining in order to burn paper with steam. Then it's all more believable...
