I am reminded by the Sonnet Ozymandias by Shelley. Great men or leaders to be politically correct are like great wine. They age well and improve but someday they will sour and be discarded.

I prefer the image of a great world, not just a great society or even less a great person.
A great world has in it's core a belief system that is not Human centric but Earth centric. That requires the participation of the Humans to believe that they are part of the Earth, not it's masters.
And thus the Human's have their masters and they have to understand their fallibility and temporal nature.
After all, great people are really often being of good fortune, in the right place and time to be part of even if somewhat of a critical part of a crucial development. The person that discovered fire was not the inventor of fire.

And people need to remember that we are actually just a species in the evolutionary course of Nature. There could come a time when the environment changes in ways that does not support our presence and possibly prefers other species instead. We would be foolish and even a little arrogant to believe that we are here to stay. Surely, history, especially Natural History argues to the contrary.

So swallow the pride of ones vanity and ask, "Did I participate in a better world, not just a better company or country?".

I would add, making sacrifices, putting others and the overall goal before yourself and your personal adgenda. Those that are willing to put in the 110% to do what needs to be done will see good success.

A leader takes others opinions and advise and use that as tool to make changes as they see fit. Adapting to change and understanding that as a business grows changes are critical.

What makes a great leader? One who thrives in what they do differently. Great leaders are not head down, they see around corners, shaping their future not just reacting to it. The 21st-century learnings about effectiveness and ineffectiveness. 1. What it takes to be a great leader. 2. What is the diversity measure of your personal stakeholder's network? 3. Are you courageous enough to abandon the past? For example: Go along to get along and leaders are doers.

Nelson Mandela is an extremely poor example of Leadership. He is a great exapmple of subtle revenge. This is clearly evident with the current state of South Africa. Where he groomed members of his party to purposley place South Africa in the current state it is in. He did not pursue equality but rather for his own race and family to be given privledge and opportunity. Mandela knew exactly the position he was leading our nation inot and what was going to happen. He may not be the beast destroying South Africa but he is the reason the beast has been taken off their leash

Leadership is about service. A leader's influence motivates and helps people around him/her to become their best selves. Leadership is about setting and achieving goals and solving problems decisively and quickly.
Thank you, Roselinde Torres, you did justice to the topic, 'What it takes to be a great leader'.

The leader becomes a role model and determines what the groups under him will do. But not all leaders are good and have character that can be imitated. From the video I know that being a leader is not easy. I agree that great leaders are those who prepare not for the comfortable predictability of yesterday, but also for the realities of today and the unknown possibilities of tomorrow.

Becoming a leader is not easy, unlike what the articles say that we must be wise and take risks. But it turns out that the key is that we must have strong emotions to withstand criticism of our ideas and our capacity to build relationships with people

During WWI they used a lot of "motivational leadership", they set officers behind pointing guns to the soldiers to motivate them to not go back.
this is what it is

How well does a leader treat those who are dependent on him? That is one determinating factor. People whom are sick, vulnerable, dependent on gov support... how do you treat them?

I couldn't be one as I think I can get a little too hot tempered 😵

A great leader is one who can weigh the good and the bad. Realize that everyone will not be for you, but that's ok bcus if you are the leader we still have to support you even though we do not agree on everything. It takes maturity, grace, and strength to be a leader. To be famous in the spotlight as a leader. Of course if they don't want the support then you just keep it moving. Everyone cannot be a leader.
