In Severance basically their memories are gone, but what they learnt isnt. So they know all the concepts like Birthplace, parents, cars, even sky but, they dont have any memories of ever seeing or experiencing these things.
ОтветитьI would not ever consider being "severed." Not even for an instant.
ОтветитьHello. I don"t mean to be an old man shouting at clouds, but I found your excessive hand gestures very distracting. I was able to comprehend more by not watching the screen. 😂 Sorry if that sounds rude. I recently saw a Ted Talk where the topic of the presenter's lecture was on using your hands and arms to emphasize the talk. Since then I notice many media members doing it. Anyway, great analysis and i can't believe you don"t cover the show, Shrinking, which is also on Apple TV. Seems like it be right up your alley. I would love to hear your input on that show.
ОтветитьI enjoyed the video but I’m curious of your thoughts on mark and Dillon
ОтветитьIrving figuring out Helena was pretending to be Helly makes perfect sense to me. Mark could never do anything outside protocol without irving noticing and calling him out on it 😂.
Ответитьi love the helly vs. helena trope so much
ОтветитьI thought you were Helly at first
ОтветитьI find it really interesting to think about how ethical treatment of Innies would work. It obviously seems better not to sever at all but like, they’d definitely need free time for example. Maybe longer shifts to build in a couple hours at the end of the day? Or work six days a week? A one-week “business retreat” every year to give their Innie a vacation? Windows/nature would be good, maybe office pets and regularly exchanging video messages with their Outies? I dunno I just find it a really fascinating problem to contemplate “solutions” for.
ОтветитьPlease try to enjoy each severance analysis equally
ОтветитьIt seems like hell for both innie and outtie.
ОтветитьDon't sever at home
ОтветитьMissing innie Irving😢
ОтветитьGreat vid! The eternal quest to integrate our shadow with the Lumon
ОтветитьTo me it looks like DID, multiple personalities thing.
ОтветитьI was pondering the differences and similarities between outie and innie personalities today. What that means psychologically so this came at a good time! Good vid, thank you.
Re: Irving's deductive reasoning, whilst I'm sure there is an element of being unburdened and able to think - his outie is shown to be collecting intelligence also! I think that keen observation and analysis of available information has carried over from outie to innie. He talks passionately about the meanings of the artwork, he pays close attention and trusts his intuition. Even when at his most pious and uninformed he still appears to have heightened observation and analysis.
I need your analysis on Gemma and her situation please. Also I have a story where a friend was observant like irving and knew I had been crying in the bathroom when I returned. It was really weird and kind of made me feel how observant he is. I think everybody needs a friend like irving.
ОтветитьHey, before i watch this, can someone say how far this gets into the series? I haven't seen season 2 yet.
ОтветитьI watched the show just to watch this video and omg!! The mystery in the show had me hooked, it was so good but season 1 is so scary!!
ОтветитьPerfect video analysis on this show
ОтветитьReal question: Does Georgia's innie still wear fabulous outfits?
ОтветитьOne reason I believe that Helena and Helly are so different is that Helena has essentially grown up in a cult. In a cult, members personalities’ are programmed to be a certain way. I believe Helly lets us see Helena without the cult programming.
ОтветитьThe Ad was…Brilliant! 🙌🏽🤣
Ответитьty 4 the content ❤
ОтветитьSo glad more ppl are talking about this show beyond theories! I love the analysis. And the wallpaper! That's so cool, where is it from?
ОтветитьI appreciate that your tone for the Brilliant ad was very Wellness Session
ОтветитьOutie ad-read gave me chills
ОтветитьWhat doesn't make sense to me is how they remember all their basic functions, like speech, mobility etc. even though they've technically just been born, as soon as the severance chip is activated, unless if this is after the initial severance process, whereby they are vetted, and there memory is wiped, but they retain all their core memory functions.
ОтветитьYou should analyse The You You Are book from Severance. I'd imagine it's the exact opposite of what a real therapist would say but maybe there's some truth there
ОтветитьYou look so good in that lighting!
ОтветитьInnie Georgia kind of scared me lol. Only because she seemed so different from what i was used to; from cadence, word choices, and tone. My brain was like "this is the same person...but they are acting very differently". That was a really fun choice. Awesome video as always
ОтветитьI cant not think about how painful it would be to find out someone surgically removed all memories of me... lol... Between the gist I'm getting about this show and the great movie " Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Can only assume that it would be like being back on the school playground with neither team wanting you times a million.... Friends don't put friends on the cutting room floor! Also friends don't let friends be bad at probability math! lol
Ответитьthe computer in the background is a nice touch
ОтветитьHah! You had waaaaaay too much fun with this one. And to answer your closing question... no. Not interested in slicing my personality into two different people, that just sounds like a bad idea.
ОтветитьI love the nice touch of having screen with digits on the background!
ОтветитьI have to admit that the ad part about brilliant felt really scary to me
ОтветитьThe way you did that end cut was amazing, I loved it so much! Better than most jumpscares I've seen on TV these days!!!
Ответитьsounds like Dollhouse. Which could be fun to look into. Lots of DID folks seem to like it (including myself).
ОтветитьI am curious what happens to knowledge and skills in severance or if it matters when you'd learn them.
(Both in the "what happens in the show?" Sense as well as "what would probably happen in real life?" Sense.
Basic knowledge seems to be retained according to the first clip. So I'm guessing basic math, writing and such? What about using excell, or ok putting together a resume? Or in my example as a medical lab tech; drawing blood, performing maintenance on various analyzers, navigating Epic or CHCS or all the little things you learn in the year of tech school such as, why you should suspect yeast when a urinalysis shows up as negative but there appears to be blood on the microscope. (Sorry for the highly specific examples 😅)
Are you running a Severance screensaver on Windows Visma on a pc with CRT screen in the background there? Sick.
ОтветитьYAY. are you going to do character breakdowns?
ОтветитьHelly R seems like a happier version of Helena. Yes she tried to unsubscribe from life, but she also has a kind of freedom that Helena does not have. Like friends, someone she can be close too (Mark).
ОтветитьU look like my spanish teacher
Subscribed cuz of that ❤
(Love ur content tho)
This has made me wish to hear Dow to share her thoughts of the movie, "Dark City". But It may be too much away from the algorithm to be a good choice.
ОтветитьLove the 90s screen at the back. Cosplay getting to a new level !
ОтветитьCan you do Mina Ashiro from Kaiju no 8?
ОтветитьYay, Severance! I just came from watching the latest episode. This was a fun video, loved the switcharoo at the end. Also I would not choose to get severed. First issue is that time goes fast enough, if I were severed, my perception of time would go much faster. It would be like waking up from sleeping all night to go sleep all day, yikes. Second, I am super disabled and a newbie could not come into my body and pilot it. Third, head is messed up enough as it is. Don't need someone poking around in there. Also the operation, mega yuck lol.
ОтветитьI knew it was Helena not Helly on the Severed floor from the start. Helly didn’t experience any rejection in her life so she would be open about what happened. She way to easy accept the idea of staying willingly but for the majority of season one she was focused on leaving no matter the price.
I love the show so much!. I appreciate your cosplay and getting the screen.
