I was in Tokyo last week and saw an official putting a parking ticket......on a bicycle lol
Ответитьr32 @ :14
Ответитьwhats different about the system is that Japan is filled with Japanese. Can't say the same about Europe or America.....
Ответитьdamn. japan looked different then huh.
Ответитьback when western press reported on japan in this way (electronics wasteful, cameras watching roads are dystopian, workers are just robots focused on efficiency)
wonder what the next country they present this way will be, right now they are doing china 😂
That HAIR
ОтветитьJapan can be summed up as strict and orderly with a pinch of compassion on top, I don’t know of any other place in the world where the authorities would leave a message stating the plate number of the vehicle towed and it’s location
ОтветитьMullet jeremy its so rad
ОтветитьI live in Canada and the powers that be have decided to upgrade a MAJOR freeway (the trans canada highway) that runs smack through the middle of the city for some reason. As part of my job I am lucky to have to endure driving the entirety of this construction zone, back and forth, 8 times in shift. They have been working for 3 years on a single 2 km section of the "freeway" for that entire time with little to no sign of progress. It's rare to see more than 4 or 5 people doing anything to said construction project.
ОтветитьI got to visit a much more up to date version of this in Tokyo in 2019 and it's pretty incredible. There's nothing that can happen on any major road without them knowing about it and addressing it almost immediately. Compare that to here in Canada and it makes us look like a third world country, which we basically are in so many ways compared to Japan.
Ответитьjapan had google maps even before it existed.
ОтветитьI wonder how much they advanced in 2023
ОтветитьAsia in a nutshell : OBEY FOR THE COMMON GOOD.
ОтветитьWrong aspect ratio.
ОтветитьWest has got a lot to learn about infrastructure, but Japan has got even more to learn about mental health and suicide prevention.
ОтветитьIt’s funny that the weebs think that this could work in the states
ОтветитьI bet THEY ARE STILL USING THE SAME SYSTEM
ОтветитьWhen was this like early 90s? Tokyo was already in 2020 🤣
ОтветитьThat chalk is the dumbest shit ever lol
ОтветитьThe parking ladies are cute
ОтветитьSO IM PAYING THE METER AND IT STILL GETS TOWED IF ITS THERE TOO LONG OH YEAH IM BURNING OFFFIAL BUILDINGS DOWN
ОтветитьImagine discouraging cars, things that take up a lot of space in a place where space is a premium, are very noisy and polluting, and where tons of people want to be.
ОтветитьI’ve always been impressed with Japanese efficiency.
ОтветитьDat R32 GT-R V-Spec II doe...must be worth a million dollars to the fanboys now.
ОтветитьCan yo imagine how upset the right wing would be in Britain if Sadiq Khan decided to clean up the Streets of London in an equally efficient manner. Fhe likes of Clarkson, Farage and Fox would be out there crying like babies and holding sit down protests in the road just like Just Stop Oil.
And then they would be mortally wounded and get all upset about being dragged out of the way so that ordinary people could get on with their day.
The fact the narrator makes fun of it when all should be a common norm everywhere makes me laugh hard
ОтветитьWhat if it rains
ОтветитьDang, that looked like a Nascar pit stop!
Ответить"I'a kick'a ya ass!"
ОтветитьOmg that VSpec II.
Ответитьgoogle maps made all these people unemployed
ОтветитьJeremy clarkson is missing that gruffy voice of charm
ОтветитьClarkson looking mega crappy
ОтветитьIn the UK if you call the council about a car blocking your drive and you can't get out, you get put on hold for 35mins before being told "Oh sorry it's a Sunday/bank holiday, there's nothing we can do. Have you tried knocking on the neighbours and see if it's anyone's?... No there's no one to ticket it either."
True story
Actually the chalk says
“Parky bad much
You no have car now
Neener neener”
Which one u boldest. Come front. 😊 i say for a reason.
Ответить"Orange mean you're screw" 😅
ОтветитьI’m Japonais. I have never seen a car been towed away until seeing this vid. So, they don’t do this much nowadays? I was born in the 2000's and I guess this vid probably takes place in the '90s?
ОтветитьI love the Japanese but id make a suit of samurai armor out of hundreds of those shame thingys and I'd walk around town yelling "shame! Shame! Ding ding ding!"
ОтветитьThat GT-R costs north of $100k these days
ОтветитьJapanese: “You will pay the fines to remove that yellow tag on your car, or face great shame !”
USA: “What the hell is this ‘shame’, you speak of?”
What if someone else parks on top of the message they left in chalk?
Ответитьit's amazing how they can tow a car in 30 seconds
In the US and Canada all you need to do is park in a way that looks annoying to tow, and nobody bothers to tow you
When journalism was better
ОтветитьAt least they write with the chalk where the car has been towed. In India, they just tow away, and you have no clue where. Not to mention I'm comparing current day India with japan 14 years ago
ОтветитьMeanwhile, I-5 around Tacoma has been under construction for the past thirty years.
