This movie was such a disappointment. 😭
ОтветитьI was 💯 convinced that Lydia’s boyfriend/fiance/whatever he was… was going to be a disciple of the same cult that Delores came from and it just was boring.
ОтветитьI liked Delores. Idk why people have to be so negative about everything.
ОтветитьI kinda see why you hated the movie i did have my lows with it myself I was hoping for it to be good
ОтветитьShould have made a tie-in comic about Dolores and focus on the whole daughter being taken to the underworld thing.
ОтветитьI honestly enjoyed this sequel although I do agree to some extent that the Delores plot could’ve been taken out but if you really think about it, it does add to the story a lot more because it gives Beetlejuice some motivation to why he wants to marry Lydia so much so he can be condemned to eternity with her as a means of escape from Delores but that’s my opinion. Also Tim Burton confirmed he won’t be making a third one and there’s also a theory that the film is only titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice because the ending somewhat implies it may have all been a dream so it never happened so if that’s the case, my interpretation of the ending is that Lydia will always be haunted by Beetlejuice no matter what
ОтветитьNever let AI write the script, folks
ОтветитьWow! She was great!
Ответитьi feel like this movie would have been better if they didnt focus on too many subplots and instead focused on two subplots, where lydia takes time to bond with her own daughter through their love of ghosts and the supernatural, throughout the movie. also have delores remain a threatening villian throughout the movie where she finds out about beetlejuices love for lydia and delores decides to kidnap lydias child by hiring the one ghost who killed his parents, and who still lingers within the land of the living, all in a attempt to become mortal again and get revenge on the living world that beetlejuice holds so dear. also have her find a dark magic ritual book that says you can absorb your victims souls through the use of dark magic and have her use blood sacrifices by killing innocent people in the afterlife and the living world, just so that she can retain her own youth, and have her use that power to increase her own dark magic throughout the movie. also imagine if beetlejuice sacrificed himself to save lydia and her daughter from delores ,instead as the climatic battle throughout, and delores transforms into a giant creature by using the dead souls she killed in the movie earlier , and then attempts to end beeltejuice through using advanced dark magic rituals ,and beetlejuice uses the advanced magical item that lydia studied about when dealing with the supernatural that can send powerful deitys to a different dimension, and speaks the ancient spell ritual backwards that lydia tells him to say after him and delores are both even in the fight and hes all bruised up. also the spell he says backwards which sends dolores back to whatever hell she came crawling out of, and beetlejuice dances to bye bye bye by nsync after he successfully wins the fight against his evil ex once and for all. also having beetlejuice sacrifice himself for lydia being a true act of love rather than lust would have made this film standout and show that he really cares about lydia as a person rather than because she looks good. also have lydia and beetlejuice agree to remain friends in the conclusion and the two hug it out before beetlejuice leaves the living world and then lydia and her daughter are watching ghostbusters and then when the two go to bed when the movie is over, lydia wakes up from a strange dream of beetlejuice babies then beetlejuice appears at her bed side and then dissapears when lydia turns around implying that hes still here.
ОтветитьOmg are we the same person?
I felt the exact same way - Dolores just seemed to strut around endlessly lol
I was really excited for a cool origin story of BJ but it just felt flat.
I don’t mind Jenna - I dont really care fir her tbf
but she’s literally in everything atm because she’s popular similar to the way Jennifer Lawrence was everywhere when she came out I.e the xmen films lol ❤
I’m looking forward to your take on Wicked and if we have the same thoughts on that 😂 xxxx
The one thing that could tie Delores to this sequel I remember from the first movie is the finger thing when BJ tried marrying Lidia as a child. He mentioned "She" meant nothing to him. Perhaps that was Delores' finger but I have yet to rewatch the original and sequel
ОтветитьI felt dead inside after watching it... What in the actual EF! What did I watch? def. Not a beetlejuice movie... If they make a third, i'll ignore it. But lets face it, Tim Burton has been going downhill for years.
ОтветитьHe chopped her up after poisoning him
ОтветитьLet's face it; the ONLY reason that the character of "Delores" was even created is so that Tim Burton could put his new gf in the film. That's it. Whoever he is in a relationship with at the time of whatever project he's filming ALWAYS gets some central role in his films. That's why we got over a DECADES plus worth of Helena Bonham Carter being crammed into films.... even when she clearly didn't belong.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! I agree 100% with you about this film. I was SO disappointed. The writers felt like 14 year old amateur fanfiction writers instead of people working on the sequel of an established film. 😑
Wait. You made me like this movie more
ОтветитьAlso Delores is a Munster
ОтветитьDolores does explain the random finger from the first movie when BJ proposed
"She meant absolutely nothing to me"
What do you think about the Beetlejuice animated series as is it supposed to be a sequel to the movie as he was a villain and now he’s a good guy now and no mention of Adam and Barbara in the series at all and also the same for Batman Returns at least there is a novel Batman Resurrection explains a lot of things.
ОтветитьBeetlejouice is the one who killed Delores. She was after him for revenge
ОтветитьI agree with a number of the reviews that said this had 3 or 4 potentially good movies in it, but they all were shrunk down and mashed into one movie. You have a lot of plot threads, but not enough time to fully develop any of them. Still, I liked it alright. Not great, but okay. Probably better than the "Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian," story that was the pitch back in the day I give it a B-. I
I've seen worse, but I've definitely seen better.
As someone who like beeltejuice 2 even I thought Delores was wasted in the beeltejuice 2 like they set her up is like a big villain, in villain and she disappears for a good chunk of the movie not to mention played by the same woman already played a big female baddie that being Persephone from the matrix franchise how the heck to waste Persephone in a freaking Tim Burton movie
ОтветитьWait what? I really enjoyed the sequel!
ОтветитьWhat the code down to fix this is have that Beetlejuice ex-wife could’ve been a witch instead of a human to explain how she’s able to steal people souls and be a soul sucker in the first movie it’s revealed that ghost are real, so why not in the sequel will be Beetlejuice ex-wife could’ve been a witch who steal soul so she could stay young and beautiful They could also had that built just find out she’s a witch and she only married him so she could steal his soul so he plans to kill her to protect himself and she attacked him but by accident they got them both killed and fell out a window instead of the whole poison thing They could have, he fell into the water below and drowned when he died because he hit his head, falling out the window and for his ex-wife the reason she could be in pieces cause she fell on a bar fence that stabbed her After all if they can have giant sandworms and ghost that don’t see why they couldn’t have witches
ОтветитьIt was really bad
ОтветитьThis would of been better as a shirt series like wensday
ОтветитьI made it to the end!😁
ОтветитьI agree that Dolores was largely irrelevant and had a very shallowly conceived story and personality, but I do think her motivation was clear and had sense to it. Beetlejuice (I don’t remember the other spelling) killed her and she wanted revenge. It seemed l pretty clear cut to me, despite their storyline not being fully/properly developed beyond the revenge aspect.
