My question is - when I play live games 1/2 or 1/3, a raise of 3 or even 4 times the pot will still get multiple callers. I usually need to go to $15 or $20 to get the weaker hands out of the action. Is this normal?

Lost 700$ tonight on tilt playing online, definitely knew I was playing as the fish but still thought I could out bet or out luck everyone I was playing against. Kinda new to higher level/ higher money games, great video a lot of good info for a young poker player that wants to continue playing and be profitable

El toro poo poo Yellow Snow (oops Black Rain) cause experience is the best teacher. You're not dumb, stupid, etc. but... the guy usually wins who's got the cards. Every time! All the factors you mention are relevant but.. the guy who's got the cards 'usually' wins. Just repeat that ten times! Have a great day ugly as the north end of a southbound mule; oops, yellow snow oops, black rain. 😂 (Just kidding; thanks for the less than real useful information.)(You're not that ugly either. Maby this is why all my former wives said I was an asshole.)

Great video! !

I have been playing with fake chips (you can buy them) for fun for years and at this point quite easily goes top 3 in 100 player MTT high stakes (15-30 days worth of freeroll play for buy in). Feeling ready to start playing for money. This is the best beginner advice I have ever seen for preflop! Cash games are so different from MTT, with or without antes

great vid. let's say you have a decent hand and raise 3x and someone shoves. are you still only calling with premium hands or do you adjust your range down at all if you already put money in? also, if this guy is an agro or on tilt would you adjust down or just cut your losses and stick to the staticical advantage?

Since it takes significant skill to understand ones' own shortcomings, it is not uncommon for the amateur to look at the professional AND THINK THEY CAN DO A BETTER JOB.

Dude...nobody needs you teaching 2nl and 5nl here in almost 2024. Most sites don't even offer stakes that low. And you've GOT to stop making videos with you facepalming and everything. YOU'RE A FISH. You can't act like you know something about the game when you have absolutely no online or live presence and you only play micros. This is pure snake oil.

Limping pre flop is a good way to maximise profit with a good hand, especially if those behind you believe that you always raise a limper.

I am by no means a poker player but i find it funny hes making fun of limpers but i often bet and control the pot most of the game and occasionally if i get a good or great hand ill limp and people like the guy in the video will notice the vacume of control and junp on it thinking " his money is mine for the taking" when really im letting them seal their demise with their own desire to take control. Essentially making their money MINE for the taking. Calling isnt always a sign of weakness. Sometimes it lets you test the waters or get more money on the table than if you had raised.

Your channel is great, i consider myself almost at pro level now. I have been playing for 20 years, i was fortunate to live within 4 hour car drive to Las Vegas. I took 7 years off to take care of my mother, but i have started playing again last year. I mainly play tournaments, and sometimes low end cash games. This last WSOP i got in the money in 3 straight events, and i just missed the final table in the Pokerstars in Manila. I was the bubble for the final table, but i got a decent pay out. THanks to you i have cashed around 20k since returning to the game. I was old school tight player, now i have opened up my game a lot. Thanks

Love how you always say "statistically". I constantly lose when I am "statistically" ahead. The math does not add up on Bovada. Internet poker is a game of cards with a program deciding which cards to deal out. Statistically, a hand with 80% equity should win 80% of the time. NOT IN MY WORLD! Somehow I pissed off someone at Bovada.
Internet poker is fantasy poker. HOPE is the greatest ally. Skill is a losing cause.
You, Blackrain, are the one player whose percentages actually play out as mathematically possible.
Congratulations.

I understand bad beats are a part of the game. 80% means you lose around 20%. I am the one who loses those hands on a regular basis.
Nothing more depressing in poker than having the Nuts, getting called by the guy/girl/they chasing, then seeing the "ONE" card that allows them to win.
Some are lucky. Some are skilled. Some are losers. I'm a skilled loser.

Ive been watching educational poker videos for a while now and you’re the first person I’ve heard say what you said about adjusting your preflop raise to aim for only 1 caller. It makes so much sense and really has changed my perspective on how you want the preflop to go when you have a good hand.

so you are a pro poker player. You have no income except poker right. 3 times the bb raise doesn't work anymore with the high rake you can't beat the rake in a live game.

Something i have a hard time with is knowing when to fold after i 3bet, and someone either shoves or 4bets to me.
Is the goal to only 3bet hands im willing to shove? Is that the general principle? No matter my position at the table?

I don't know if he mentioned this, but another crucial tip is to ALWAYS keep your preflop bets the same size.

It doesn't matter if you have AA or 72o, keeping the preflop bets the same will make it incredibly hard for your opponents to put you on a specific hand

I wish. Did you ever try to play poker in Czech Republic? You raise - six calls instantly. Somebody 3-bets the raise? Nobody cares, everybody calls. You have to go all in to make them fold and usually somebody will call you anyway because he limped with queens.
