This is the dumbest shit ever. Why the fuck are you dropping thousands of dollars on gear to be a part time grunt? I was in the Guard after I got off active and no one fucking did that shit. If you want cool gear, reenlist for RASP.

Secondly, no one gives a fuck about yelling at privates. All that shits super fun until one of them takes you to the wood line and beats your ass. I’ve seen it from a thousand “hard” TLs with no real experience and nothing to back up being a piece of shit all the time. There’s a difference between being a tough leader and just being a fucking asshole all the time. You’re the latter clearly.

One thing that is dumb is fucking with joes just because. Room temperature IQ soldiers flexing their ego instead of training soldiers and making the field shitty instead of fun productive. It sets the precedent that your joes will not trust you, won't talk to you, and will dread coming to work.

Coming from an infantry squad leader from 10th mtn back in the day, there is absolutely better ways to treat your soldiers and get more performance out of them. Night and day difference if you can motivate them to do their job, and they will just naturally start taking up more responsibility because they want to be like you.
