i opted for a honda crf230m. I got mine with a spare set of rubber for 2200 and it came with the factory service manual. Factory 17 inch wheels, 6spd, not super fast only goes about 75 but doesn't feel too bad for a thumper. bike was only available here in the usa for the year 2009.

Well you basically just crushed any dreams I had about converting a dirt bike to a sumo. Im not spending 2 grand on new wheels and all that other shit when I could just buy a husky 701 or a Ktm factory sumo. You basically confirmed all my current suspicions about the hassle of converting a dirt bike. Just more hassle than its worth, along with more maintenance. It would be cool to have a bike that you could switch tires and go from dirt to street, but then you mine as well just have 2 bikes. One for street and one for dirt dedicated.

Dont forget about the chinese option! The Dongfang df250rte. Can be had for about $2k brand new. The engine is suprisingly strong. (Not powerful, but can can take abuse) mines been running on about 6 lbs of boost reliably for awhile now.

90 percent of people can convert a super moto . It is not difficult whatsoever .

There aren't too many sumo converted 125 2 strokes. They're cheaper to repair than a big 4 stroke and have 35+ hp. Would be cool to do one.

Um klx 250sf and 300sm are also factory supermotos and cheaper than a drz with better features like fuel injection on the 300s and better suspension on both.

I havet the honda fmx 650 it is a supermoto with same engin and fram as honda nc 650 dominator. Its easy to mod and can make upword of 70hp

There are more options if you just buy a duel sport and change the wheels and speedo. Ktm 500, crf450x klx300 and a few others. Lot easier conversion and close to the same performance.

Crf 450 converted to moto trim you can not beat a Honda , lightweight, quick and reliable best supermoto I ever had.
