What an absolute jerk this guy is! The patient is obviously in horrible pain, and this obnoxious poor excuse of a doctor is being patronizing and minimizing the time it’s taking him to torture the poor man…and minimizing the pain. I’ve been through horrible things through my cancer journey and have dealt with barbarians like this. And he’s proud to put a video like this out there?! He’s an arrogant fool. 😡

Obviously they CAN give adequate sedation and pain control. Somewhere along the line in school or training they are taught that the intensity of the pain that you inflict on your patient is only problematic if it last some very vaguely defined duration. There is only one possible reason, other than the small percentage of patients for whom it is too risky, to deny adequate pain control. That is expediency. It takes quite a bit longer to use an anesthetist and have to closely monitor patients. Barbaric and totally unnecessary. This is 2024 not 1824

What is this for?

This has convinced me to never have this procedure. If they can’t do more for pain than this, count me out. There’s no reason for a patient to suffer this much pain. No wonder the urologist who posted this hasn’t answered any questions here.

I had this done 3 days ago, it really didn't hurt it just uncomfortable. I was numbed prior to them gong in, only felt a little pain as it wasn't as near as bad as I thought it would be. The key to not feel much of it is breathing, taking deep breaths in and slowly out. The doctor like in the video week talk you thru it and they run cool water solution in your urethra while in there. Once they start you're out in about 10 minutes, only discomfort is when they move in further to the bladder area. On scale of 1-10 for pain, I'd say 3 max, no lie. Now if you're long dong silver, it might be different for you 😆🤣😂

I had this done 2 years ago. So called topical numbing medication didn’t work. Sucks, the hospital can’t find my last results and I get it done again in 2 days!😭

Had this done today whew! Took me an hour to finally let my urologist do it. The numbness didn't work much. I grab the doctor hand so my wife had to grab my hand 😂. It wasn't as bad but definitely didn't feel good. Never again.

Man, the anesthesia already exists, there is no reason for the patient to suffer.

Had this done 2x, first time was a bitch, second much better. Wasn't really painful until the first urination after, burned like hell. Lasted about a half day. Don't really feel much while it's in there. Everything checked out good, turns out I had an over active bladder.

Anytime I hear or watch the way American doctors treat or the things they request to their male patients (all ages) I have no doubts they get joy humiliating, putting guys in stressful/embarrassing situation they don’t make anything to give you a less worse experience ( if an urologist can be any less worse )

Take the airplane and go to Europe for this kind of treatment, you will be knocked out with anestesia and algo you will get sterile underwear even for treatments like this one.

i believe this doc is a butcher is not real oncologist. for the video demo the patient is suffering a lot. How much cost the patient for a general anesthesia??? Nothing. Insurance cover everything. Guys don't let butchers touch you...be alert.

I don't get it!!
I get a colonoscopy and I get knocked out for as long as the procedure is done.
Someone gets this very invasive procedure done and the pain is unbearable. Why not knock men out if the pain is obviously worse than doing a colonoscopy. Just comparing the two accessing points for each of the procedures.

That patient looked like he was having a rough time of it. I have to make a decision either with this procedure or Urolift
