Very nice
ОтветитьNote to Michael: the Kreg jig for drilling the hinge holes includes the 2 smaller holes beside it so you dont have to square it up and drill them seperately.
ОтветитьWhat table saw do you have? Would you recommend it?
ОтветитьThe scrap material that he is cutting his wood on, what is it. It doesn’t look like scrap wood?
ОтветитьJust bought the plans. What’s your dust collector under the saw?
ОтветитьFor your outlet behind the cabinet, I designed some outlet box extensions in sketch up and then had a friend 3D print them out of ABS. Worked great.
Ответитьwhat brand of vac is that under the miter saw
ОтветитьHi Michael, is there a chance the plans for miter saw station are available in a metric version as well?
ОтветитьWow! This is a tremendous skill level. I hope you will enjoy every day of use for this station. Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьThis video makes me want to make a hole new work bench
ОтветитьWhat do you mean by outgrown it? You just saw it worked just fine
ОтветитьWhat’s your opinion on the dust collection of the Kapex? I have one and love the saw but the dust collection is average at best. Very good video
ОтветитьWhat brand the is t-track stop at the end?
ОтветитьLove the fast switch from Festool to Ryobi :)
ОтветитьAre you a Royal Arch Brother?
ОтветитьSo, you want to say that just few blocks attached to the toe kick with a crew is strong enough to hold everything in these cabinets?
ОтветитьThat same kregg hinge jig also is templated with the holes to predrill the screws as well
ОтветитьEverything looks great but I still have to say,
Drawers are completely wrong. For your own shop, no problem, for a customer, don’t do them like this.
Still haven’t built my miter saw station. But I did upgrade to the Kapex. I’m so close. I think I’m done with the holiday things I need to make so shop organization is my goal now. I love how you made the tops go all the way to the miter saw and have that angle. Great use of space. And it looks fantastic.

Ответитьthat dowel on the oversize Forstner bit is a great Tip !
ОтветитьAmazing video, great commentary, and with all seriousness aside, I seen your bit fall off your drill hehe, when you made thar cut down into the top of your table. Happens to the best of us, keep up the great work.
ОтветитьNice build. Where does the exhaust air from the shop vac go? I didn't see any relief opening.
ОтветитьThose "first drawers" are functional and obviously sturdy. I suspect they were also very cheap top make. That means good design.
ОтветитьAwesome job on the miter station! I have to laugh, I guess we all have that first miter station from scraps. Unfortunately for me, I am still using mine. It will suffice until I make the move into my permanent shop area. Then I will build my forever station. Very nice job, Love the special touches on the pattern plywood drawers. The entire build was really thought out. Great job.
Thanks for the video.
Magnificent😂
ОтветитьGreat idea & execution of the hid-a-way lathe! Innovative ideas like that always catch my attention.
ОтветитьLooking at the drawer pulls, do you find yourself getting caught on the corners?
ОтветитьWhere’s all the features?
ОтветитьOne pocket screw takes 170lbs to break add glue it's 380lbs, super strong, you don't need that many screws man just sayin, specially on your top spacers there, but I have that issue of over building myself lol, that's why I researched the strength of every joinery method, pocket screws are near the top of the list right by mortis and tenon, not as strong but up there...just info for anyone watching this ..
ОтветитьYou should be proud of those drawer slides. Great idea and execution.
ОтветитьThis guy talks like a woman.
ОтветитьWould this work / be stable enough to change the toe kick out for a 2x4 structure with rolling wheels?
I work in my garage, and things need to be moved often. I was going to make 3 carts/stations.
1 Miter station, 1 table saw station, 1 cart/table. All the same height so they can be moved around for extra outfeed or surface when I need it.
I love this design, but need to be able to move it. I was planning on pretty much 2x4 work station, with the miter sat down to the level I need. But I'd like to do it with cabinets like you did. Just wasn't sure if that will be strong enough to be rolled/moved around.
Excellent, awesome video!!
ОтветитьAs I’m about to FINALLY build my miter station I had to watch this again. There are so many things that I picked up on this time around that I didn’t think about when I first watched. Glad I watched again.
ОтветитьIs that jackery ad filmed on vashon island? Looks familiar
ОтветитьWonderful work! It's good for the eyes to look at how you work 😍
ОтветитьWhat material did you use for toe kick?
ОтветитьOooooohhh.... a new flat spot. To put stuff on.
ОтветитьMight want to try attaching all hardware before assembling cabinet. Flat horizontal on workbench attach drawer slides then assemble cabinet. Work from drawer slide centre line for screw location. Great saw station
ОтветитьI wish you had drilled the mounting holes for the brass drawer pulls at an angle that had them line up with the direction of movement 😁
ОтветитьSo i painted my walls in the shop area of my garage black as well, my wife thought I was crazy and should have went with something a lot lighter. I'm curious to hear why you chose black walls.
Ответитьdon't knock on your old self for your earlier builds , That guy back then who built those things was doing the best he could with what he had and the experience he had and if he didn't do that you wouldn't be where you are today. I have to remind myself of this regularly because I am always advancing and getting better at everything I do in life so sometimes I look back at some things I have built or done and find it almost laughable but I know I was doing my best and you do not get better or learn anything without starting somewhere.
Ответитьthat little drawer your worried obout pulling out too far. just glue or tack a thin wood shim behind the front of the drawer so that back stop hit its when open
ОтветитьI'm repurposing some really bad cabinets for my daughter, but it does have nice fronts and doors and my heart yearned for a new miter saw, but with the cost of the project I pulled out my old 12" Porter Cable. I only have to make 6 new fronts and will try an edge beads (might not be saying it right) for the first time and undermount slides for the first time, as well. I found Maxcut software that let me create a cut list and optimization for the 3 thicknesses of birch. Plywood is coming from Florida Southern Plywood; is prefinished and their prices destroy those of the big box stores.
ОтветитьVery nice. Great job. Cheers
ОтветитьWow!! Strong build Sir!!
Great design brother😃
