I travel with copy paper boxes that I cut down. I can put the specimens in little boxes and put those in the copy paper boxes. Keeps things safe and sound.
ОтветитьYay, nice pieces!!
ОтветитьJust wanted to say, zeolites are awesome. Great specimens.
ОтветитьFor the cores, they'd want to take a sample from those "boring" places if they were interested in palaeomagnetism, which can get masked by later alteration. Also fewer vesicles so more likely to come out in one piece. That overlapping drill technique, where they made a shallow drill hole first and then overlapped the deeper one, is a classic technique for keeping palaeomag cores oriented.
ОтветитьHi Jarod, some nice pieces, Sarah (hope I have that right) nailed a couple of stunning pieces. 👍. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
ОтветитьWow where ODOT dumped the rock. That material is so interesting. The end was awesome!🤍💎
ОтветитьDANG!!!! Those needles would give my anxiety an absolute field day if I even thought about cleaning them!!! That was an awesome discovery, thanks for sharing 🤘🤩🤘
ОтветитьAwesome material man! Love that calcite!
ОтветитьOutstanding! How the heck do those delicate little spiney bits survive out there? That's so cool. Great finds.
BTW I love your pup. She reminds me so much of my first best friend. He was a wolf hybrid. Looked like a black wolf.
I commonly find calcite here in the San Antonio area. They glow an awesome neon yellow. Often they occur with common opal which tends to glow purple or pink, I don't know if that's just a regional thing, but could be what's glowing with the calcite in those 2 pieces
Ответить👍💪😍🤝
ОтветитьI think part of my motivation in gifting you the microscope was because you were scratching at the surface of zeolites. If you have generated some images of some would you be willing to share on the member’s page?
ОтветитьSuch BEAUTIFUL specimens! Great work you three!!!
Have you thought about taking soil samples from near your finds, then look at the samples under a microscope? Might be cool to see if there are some super tiny crystals 🔬 😎 💛
Fantastic zeolite specimen finds and I'm glad they got home in good order!
ОтветитьHave you try fluorescent on them??
Ответитьwow what amazing crystal I love how those needle one is did that make it home
ОтветитьSweet chabazite specimen. Analcime and other cool zeolites. Was everywhere, that's awesome! Sarah found an insane specimen. Really is a bummer when allergies get in the way of enjoying nature. Still, excellent finds. Oregon is just so beautiful and plentiful rockhounding areas it seems.
ОтветитьShould you even ask that question? I look at the piles of unprocessed rocks that I’ve cobbled. But you know…need more specimens. The kids at the Spokane Rock Club are going to get class sets soon 😂
ОтветитьFantastic finds! I love calcite crystals, but the Chabazite and nateolite(?) are absolutely gorgeous! Wow! I'm so happy that you got those specimens, especially that amazing piece with several minerals, home safely. Thanks so much for sharing Jared and Sarah!✌️🤠
ОтветитьVery cool! While being outside on a rockhounding adventure is fun regardless of what one finds, coming home with a cool sample is always exciting.
ОтветитьWAY COOL!!! Nice finds!!!👍👍👍
ОтветитьGood one Jared! Sarah found all the good stuff tho :) Wonder if poeple alter color on these by heat treating?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing!
ОтветитьWow you found some cool stuff!
ОтветитьThank you two for another great video. I got some beautiful pieces of cherry red & oxblood swirled Jasper today at my favourite beach. 😁
ОтветитьInteresting! I’m living Portland Oregon. Would you give me good place to find beautiful rock? Thanks.
ОтветитьWould you ever consider doing a group meet up at maybe like red top or one of the other dig sights. I’m sure there’s a few of us that would like to meet you and your wife in person and do a little rock hounding. Rockhound in camping trip would be better for some people just because of distance that they have to travel. What do you think
ОтветитьI dont think I have seen this wile out and about. Cool!
ОтветитьAwesome field trip and finds!👍👍
ОтветитьJackpot! Most excellent!
ОтветитьAwesome specimens! I’ve got to e mail you a picture of one that I found. Never seen anything like it, but I’m sure you’ll know what it is! 😁
ОтветитьIt must have been really fun to find that cool pocket full of crystals. The photos on your website are fantastic!
ОтветитьWow! Those are amazing specimen pieces! That one piece with the spray like tendrils is gorgeous! what is that mineral? I love the cubic crystals and the fantastic individual calcite crystals! Just amazing the amount of perfect specimens you were able to retrieve and transport, intact! Awesome video! Thanks for sharing that incredible adventure!
ОтветитьThose are excellent specimens.
ОтветитьOmg
ОтветитьIve found smth similar , imma instagram you
ОтветитьSarah scores another beautiful specimen! That is beautiful.
