In the video it's mentioned that they will be launching a new company around the open source software "in the next year". Given that this was 13 months ago, do you know if that has happened? I wasn't able to find anything with my Google searches.
ОтветитьDo they do attached additions to the current home ?(adding 2 story garage with mother in law suite with flat roof)
Ответитьwood lol
Ответитьprice? sq footage? hint: we dont wana see your ugly mug we want to see the house bro
Ответитьanother thinly veiled infomercial
ОтветитьWay to expensive still
Ответитьthank you!
ОтветитьI'm looking to build me a plastic panel home. Anyone know where to find panels that snap together that you can make an entire home with any size? TIA
ОтветитьI always wondered how they made these homes. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to alll
ОтветитьThankyou Ted Benson for leading the way.
ОтветитьMind is blown. What about locations these can be built in the US?
ОтветитьPrefab is great, if you don't care about aesthetics.
ОтветитьThe B1M of manufactured homes
ОтветитьCan we should apply this moduler method in India.
ОтветитьAmazing video!!
ОтветитьCan you share the total as well as the major components you are using (e.g. solar panels, other renewable energy?, battery storage, windows, etc) cost breakup for your specific home? I can then know if I can afford it with a floor plan similar to yours. I believe your floor plan meets my needs too. Thank you
ОтветитьPure Genius
ОтветитьI feel like the term "densely packed insulation" is a bit of an oxymoron.
ОтветитьGreat job bravo!!!!!!!!!
Ответитьstand-alone houses only make sense in a population-stable society. there are some, chiefly in europe, but japan and prc are certainly leading the way in asia.
if we get under a billion without destroying the environment... but seems unlikely.
In a few years the cellulose will by gravity settle about a foot, ive repaired a 14’ wall that settled 2’.
ОтветитьUndecided can you please start some form of workout program it's just you walk around like a ghoul that's been hinding underground in dungeon for the last decade.
ОтветитьOK I love this presentation. Got one question; I live on the West Coast. Are there companies that are similar to Unity?
ОтветитьI am impressed by the quality of construction... the thickness of the walls, insulation etc. Also those excellent windows..so important!! Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьTotally with you that this should be how all buildings are constructed. A mandate that all new federal buildings must meet passive house certification would be a good start. Thanks for the videos! We're trying to figure out if we can build a passive house for ourselves.
Ответитьsomething about thick windows and doors is so baller
Ответитьxyla houses starting cost 430 k .... lol gtfo
ОтветитьThis is an incredible experience. I am truly fascinated by this whole process. Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьDid you get a discount for the advertising?
Ответитьin Deutschland we do that for at least 45 yrs...boys ...push rod an leaf spring USA.....😂😂😂🎉
ОтветитьWell, as one having been to Europe many, many times, you forgot to show what tilt/turn windows (and doors) do.
To explain, the TURN part is the one you showed.
The TILT is when turning the handle up, and the window/door can be tilted on its base.
That is perfect for somebody living on the ground floor, or when you want to air your room, but not let the window/door loose.
And it seems (from the last minute or so) that there were unfinished sides?
I might also add - you mention to watch the rest of it, but where?
You should add #1, #2 and so on to the same title, so people could follow your post.
They’re only saving money in labor engineered lumber is extremely expensive as is shipping with diesel prices at 7 1/2 dollars a gallon all this does is reduce the amount of skilled laborers to build your home and replace them with minimum wage Unskilled workers
ОтветитьDon’t know what state he’s building in but Washington, Oregon and California will not allow any structure to be built without joist hangers, hurricane and earthquake strapping every 4 feet from foundation to roof
ОтветитьWell, the first problem I see is all the engineer lumber for carbon footprint of engineered lumber is 18.6 times more per lineal foot, then standard work and if you ever get a water leak, it will lose a structural integrity
ОтветитьI'm from India and I am wondering why no one in US builds houses using concrete? In India, 99% of houses are built using concrete or bricks.
ОтветитьHow much is the total price?
ОтветитьThis of course is a great thing for constructing homes. Unfortunately, we don't need more urban sprawl which is out of control in most cities. Single family dwellings waste resources and energy and a never ending number of problems. In rural areas is where this type of building makes the most sense. There are however production housing that can be multi-storey and can house many families or individuals.
ОтветитьHow much did the Unity shell cost?
ОтветитьEngineers always make it look good on the paper or simulation but when it comes to reality it never works how it is supposed too...
ОтветитьI have been advocating the use of prefabrication in homes and other buildings for decades! It is the one true way of making certain you get a perfectly stable platform and a house that will be draft free & to the best standards possible all within a very reasonable price range! In fact when you go only a step up from the Static caravan style of home they can be delivered on two trucks and installed on site withing a single day, fully connected to all services! This would revolutionize the homeless situation if they were brought down to a price point that was cheaper than renting in the public sector!
Ответитьi think if it costs the same or less as equal quality or better, then it might work. in spite of the evil retards. good luck!
ОтветитьThis was a great video. Can't wait to hear about the well & solar unit. Would love to build smaller modular homes like this.
Ответитьim not an expert by any means but all signs point to pre-fabs being leagues better than traditional building. besides cost, why is this not the dominant mode of building?
ОтветитьMatt, how about pricing? How does this compare to a conventional home construction?
ОтветитьThere is a flaw in your logic. You assume green technologies, such as your new house, are helping the climate, because your house is energy independent.
Here’s the flaw: every year (except for a pandemic year) the amount of gigatons of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere has increased, causing an accelerating rise in the Keeling curve. This is because every year the fossil fuel industry extracts and sells more fossil fuels, most of which are burned. Every year they make record profits. Thus, we have better green technologies AND increasing CO2. THE TWO ARE UNRELATED.
Green technologies improve the climate only if the rate of greenhouse gases decreases.
What happened?
Previously everyone thought the world was running out of oil. “There are no more Saudi Arabias”, Bill McKibben wrote in 2010. The Climate Movement assumed green technologies would fill the gap as fossil fuels were depleted.
But technology revolutionized the oil industry. Because of horizontal drilling and fracking, the Permian Basin in Texas & New Mexico alone has become a fountain of as much oil as Saudi Arabia ever produced. They now extract UNLIMITED OIL from oil shale rock. A liquid oil field is no longer needed. They say they can meet the world’s “need for oil for the next century” (but they omit the word “century” and use the term “foreseeable future”).
When UN Secretary General António Guterres says we are losing the climate war, it does not mean we need more green technologies. We need to end extraction.
Undecided should have an episode explaining horizontal drilling and fracking in the Permian Basin, and what that means for a steadily worsening climate. What Undecided did about plastics, it should now do for fossil fuel extraction from the ground.
I recommend a new mantra for Undecided: “Green technologies are inadequate unless the rate of extraction decreases.”
I love your channel.
I wonder what’s the cost comparison with traditional home builds (not net zero). It’d be cool if this was affordable for middle class households.
Ответитьyou built it out of flammable materials ? why?
ОтветитьI have never liked OSB.
ОтветитьI looked up the prices, these are 500k houses. Not sure how that is cheaper.
